Deals of the Week!

Stampin' Up! have just announced a fantastic initiative called "Deals of the Week". For the month of June, each week there will be various products offered at phenomenal discounts - up to 50% off! The only catch is that once the week is up, the special is gone and the items revert to their original price.

Each week will see different products offered, and I will list them on this blog for you. If you wish to purchase any of them, you need to EMAIL me with your order. Payment is required before I can place the order, so please do not leave it until the last minute of the week's deadline to order. Payment can be made by either Visa, Mastercard, Direct Deposit, or for Colac locals, cash (if you come out to my place). Please also keep in mind that I am 1 week away from delivering my 3rd baby and could go at any tick of the clock. Hence, credit card or direct deposit payments are preferable!

So, without further ado, the first Deal of the Week is:

There are 4 punches available on this week's deal:
  • Boho Blossoms
  • Scallop Square
  • Trio Flower
  • Scallop Oval*
Each punch regularly retails at $30.95, but this week only, they are out the door for $20.12 each!

The first 3 punches listed are all in the Ideas Book and Catalogue (main catty); the 4th punch was the one that was offered in the SPRING MINI catty. It compliments the oval punches in the main catty perfectly and is a fabbo one to get. I use mine all the time.

This offer is only valid from Tuesday 1st June through to Tuesday 8th June. After this date, a new Deal of the Week will be offered with different products. All orders will be treated as individual orders and as such, normal postage is on top. All orders will be sent direct from the SU! warehouse to you. There is no limit on the orders and there are no minimum numbers needed to place an order either!

If you know of anyone else that may be interested in this or subsequent specials, please direct them to me via email.

New deals will be announced on the 1st, 9th, 16th and the 23rd June and each will run for a week. I will list the deals on this blog so refer back each week to see what specials are on offer!!!!!

Fancy some 'Vintage'?

It's been a while since I have posted a card for card sake, so here is one for you. It is actually one from a class that I have been running recently and it incorporates the use of a number of new items out of the Autumn Winter catalogue (see list below).

There is a lot going on in this card and I think that it all comes together nicely. Originally I had promoted this class for Mothers Day, but quite frankly, this card will suit a range of occasions.

If you would like to know how to make cards like this, please give me a call or send an email. Although, that being said, today I ran my last class until after my baby is born. I am due 2 weeks from tomorrow so really, any tick of the clock could see me in the labour ward! But my first class back is penciled in for the 26th June. After this date, I am open for class and workshop bookings again, so please contact me if you want to take advantage of either a class or to host a workshop.

And just to remind you, that I am still available to take orders over the phone, in person or via email. So if you have anything you want to get your hands on over the next 4 weeks, just let me know and I'll arrange to get it delivered directly to you!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette
Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Mellow Moss, So Saffron
Stamps: Very Vintage wheel, Vintage Vogue stamp set (used the clear mount for customers), Tiny Tags
Accessories: Grograin ribbon in Soft Suede, Dazzling Diamonds

(products listed in orange can be found in the Autumn/Winter mini catty)

A couple of date reminders

Just a reminder that I still have product shares on offer. Last orders for this will be taken NEXT Wednesday the 26th. There are 2 share options available...scroll down a few posts to see the details, or click on "Product Shares" under post categories on the right of this blog.

This time round, the product share offer has been quite popular with some ladies already enjoying their DSP. Don't miss out if you would like a 'taster' of what the designer series paper, or the new in-colour paper is like in real life!

Also, I just want to remind you all that next Sunday is my last class/workshop until after the baby is born. This is a private class held in Warrnambool. However, I still have some openings for my 2nd last class which is to be held in Colac. It is the Baby Card class, and I am rapt by how the cards came up. Three of them are definitely baby cards, but the other three could be for any occasion - just change the sentiment. Click here for all the details on this class (this coming Saturday!)

Now whilst I won't be running any classes or workshops between May 24th and June 25th, I do want to stress that I am STILL ABOUT and am able to take orders. So if you have an individual order that you want to place, or you have a few orders from family and friends that you want to place as a "virtual workshop" or catalogue party, simply drop me an email with all the particulars (product, product code, plus any free stuff applicable) and I'll confirm and submit for you.

This is the beauty of working for an organisation like Stampin' Up!. Even while taking time out to have a baby, I can still be working on my business. So please don't think that I have abandoned you.....these days with technology the way it is, I am only an email away!

My first class scheduled after the baby is born is on June 26th and will be the Tote Bag and Love Notes class. I will post details about this later on, complete with some pics. Click here for details about this upcoming class.

NEUTRAL - Red Riding Hood cardstock as base and Washington Apple DSP for accents (NONE available)

As I receive bookings, the number of available kits will be revised.

More pics!

I'm on a roll. Since finding a camera that works........!

Here are some sample pictures of the baby cards you will be making at my Stamp-a-Stack on May 22nd. This is going to be a fun class, because not only will we be using the Big Shot machine and the Circle Scissors cutter (both in the mini catty) to create these cards, but also because it will be my last Colac class before my baby is born! So we are going to have a couple of baby related games too!

2 of the designs you will make

I've had a couple of people decline to come along based on the theme, but trust me, you can ALWAYS use baby cards! Someone you know in the next 12 months is going to have a baby - someone's daughter, or niece, or your next door neighbour etc.. the person doesn't have to be related to you. These Stamp-a-Stacks are the perfect cards to stick in your stationery cupboard and quickly raid when you need a card! I do it all the time.

Close up of the baby pram - this will be made in pink, yellow and blue

You will be making 6 cards - 3 of each design - all which will come with envelopes. The card bases and envelopes are in fact SU!'s note cards and come in a pack of 20, saving you time in cutting and scoring cardstock. Perfect for when you need to create a card in a hurry. The other feature of this class is the minimal stamping involved. So if you have been shying away from doing one of my classes, please, PLEASE come along. This is the class for you!

Close up of card - this one will be made in pink, blue and green

I am also offering a special for this class. If you bring a friend that has NEVER been to one of my classes before, you will only pay $10 for the whole class! The friend will pay the full amount.

Date: Saturday 22nd May
Time: 1pm
Cost: $15 (full amount); $10 (if you bring a new member)
Place: old convent complex, 1 Fireman St COLAC

RSVP essential so I have enough supplies. Numbers are limited!

(I would like to acknowledge Monica Weaver, USA and Robyn Irving, Aust, two talented SU! demos whom I CASEd ideas from for this class)

Mini tri-fold scrapbook pictures

Relating to the post below, here are the photos of the scrapbook which you will make in the class:

The front cover - what it looks like when closed.

You will note that I have printed a title on my can do this too if you wish, or stamp an image and adhere it. It is up to you. I will explain how you can print on the DSP at the class.

This is what the album looks like when you open the first 2 pages (the front covers). It is here that you start to see some of the numerous photos and embellishments in the album.

This is the album fully extended. There are 23 panels all up, but you won't want or need to put a photos on every one. You can see that I have added 3 big pictures as focal pics (these panels measure 5.5 x 4" and I cropped the pictures a little smaller to have a border around them) and then just placed on a number of smaller pictures to help tell my story.

You may or may not wish to use as many photos as I. You may like to have more of the DSP featuring. I would like to stress that THIS ALBUM IS YOURS and how you decorate it is UP TO YOU!

It is a little hard to see from these pics, but on my album, I have handwritten various captions. I like to do this in mini albums and I am not terribly fussed by how messy my handwriting looks. BUT... you may hate this look and want to stick to a more formal structure and look. No problem.

Now, for those that want to know the sizes, here they are:

Panel sizes (so your photos will need to be a little smaller in order to fit)
3 @ 5.5. x 4"
2 @ 5.5 x 2"
8 @ 2 x 1.5"
4 @ 2.5 x 2"
2 @ 2.5 x 4"
4 @ 1.5 x 4"
Plus there is the 4x4" panel on the front.

How I got my photo sizes was to print out a range of photos in a smaller format and then cropped as necessary, and I also printed our 3 large photos to fit in the bigger panels. NOTE: that the photos in the 3 big panels should be portrait orientation (ie up and down) and the rest of the pictures lend themselves to those that are in a landscape orientation (ie horizontal). You will have less photo wastage this way.

At the end of the day, I don't think it is really going to matter.... I heavily cropped some photos to make them fit and for others I didn't print them big enough, but they easily fit inside the panels and still look good (I think so anyway!). If you make a huge blunder, think of this class as a dry run and recreate all of this at home!!

Photos on their way!

Good evening all. For those that have been waiting for some photos of the scrapbook class I am offering, please hang on 1 more day. I am embarrassed to admit this, but.....every camera we have in the house has a flat battery! And they are all rechargable ones. Sigh..... I have one on the charger now, but the late hour makes me think my photographic skills would be somewhat hampered, so I should wait until tomorrow.

But I DO have a sample of the mini tri-fold scrapbook album that is being made in my upcoming class.

For those that are not sure what I am talking are the details!

May is International Scrapbooking Month and as such, I thought it would be good to offer a class that was centred around this time honored craft. After all, SU! products are just as suited to the scrapbooker as they are to the cardmarker. However, rather than stick to a traditional layout in 12x12 or 6x6, I thought it would be good to offer a class that enabled you to make a mini album that was actually based on a card! For the scrappers, you can get the gist of the cardmaking side of things, and for the cardmakers - you will simply extend your work with photos!

The card base I am using is a tri-fold card. I actually made one of these in a mini catalogue launch last year and it was well received. This mini scrapbook allows you to scrap a HEAP of photos, including 3 large ones of 5.5 x 4". You can put as many or as few in your album as you wish. This is the beauty of these little gems! The benefit of this album is that you are able to scrap a stack of photos that you normally wouldn't put all together on one layout, plus, because some of the photos are quite small, you can use lower quality photos such as those off your camera phone or ones that are slightly blurry. Being small, you don't notice the "mistakes" as much but still get to appreciate the picture!

Date: Friday May 14th

Time: 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start

Cost: $20 per person (includes venue hire, supplies for scrapbook, some embellishments, use of stamps and inks and refreshments). Cash or direct deposit (prior to class) only.

Place: old convent complex, 1 Fireman St COLAC

RSVP essential as I will be offering this class as kits and I will need to make them up prior to the class. Numbers are limited.

The kits will be made up in the following themes and colours (please refer to the IB&C to see the colours if you need a memory jog!):

BOY -Pacific Point cardstock as base and Good Morning Sunshine DSP for accents (1 kit available)
- Kiwi Kiss cardstock as base and Good Morning Sunshine DSP for accents (1 kit available)
GIRL - Pink Pirouette cardstock as base and Candy Lane DSP for accents (2 kits available)
NEUTRAL - Red Riding Hood cardstock as base and Washington Apple DSP for accents (2 available)

As I receive bookings, the number of available kits will be revised. There are already some that have gone, hence the low numbers!

Check out my post tomorrow to see the range of photos. I will also put up a reference to the size of photos to bring. If you are unsure what photos to use, simply bring an assortment. Also, I suggest that if you are unsure, print your photos in B&W or in sepia as these photos will go with any colours and will group together with a hodgepodge of themes.

You will also receive a cutting and assembly guide on the night that will enable you to make this album at home in different colours in order to suit a range of themes.

Contact me ASAP to reserve your place.
