Pre-order your NEW catalogue!

Oh my golly is nearly time!! Nearly time for the release of the new 2010-2011 Ideas Book and Catalogue. Come September 1st, we will all be locked away in a secluded spot, pouring through our new cattys, deaf to the pleas of our families to cook them something nutritious, ignoring the fact that sons and daughters have gone 3 days in the same clothes, and not noticing that dust bunnies are hopping madly about our houses!!

Seriously though, I know that there are some of you that simply cannot wait to get your hands on the new copies, so I am extending this offer to you.

Pre-order your new Ideas Book and Catalogue with me before Wednesday August 11th and I will ensure that you get it by September 1st so you are raring to go with any orders you want to make. Get the hop on a lot of customers who will wait until they attend a workshop to see one of the new copies. Cost of the catalogue is $10 (plus postage if applicable)*.

For those that have not hosted a workshop before, please note that you will receive a FREE catalogue when you book a workshop. The start of a new catalogue year is a WONDERFUL time to host a workshop as there is just so much new and fresh stuff for people to look at and buy. All demonstrations that I will do will incorporate items from the new catalogue. So give me a call to book your workshop in September NOW before dates are all taken.

*ladies involved in the 2nd stamp club commencing in August 2010 will receive a FREE IB&C as part of their group membership.

Technique group clarification

I just re-read my post on the techniques groups, and I suddenly thought that I may have created a bit of confusion about the 2 groups. So I should clarify.

There are 2 separate groups running. If you book into the Wednesday morning group, you will always attend the Wednesday session. Same goes for the Friday sessions. I don't want to have people thinking that they turn up to the Wednesday AND the Friday. The sessions are exactly the same, just held at different times so that it suited a range of my clients to attend.

I apologise if I created any confusion, and I hope that anyone that was hesitating about coming along due to the time commitment, will now reconsider. The commitment is for approximately 1 - 1.5 hours a month.

I have 2 places free for the Friday session and 1 place free for the Wednesday session. If you haven't already done so, please contact me ASAP to book your place. I will be finalising the product list for the first session in the next day or so.

Fathers Day gift box & card

Do you get stuck for a gift for Father's Day? Want to give a gift that you can personalise and that you can easily make yourself? Then come along to my next class and have your Father's Day gift all sewn up and ready to go for September.

The colour scheme may vary from the pictures and there may be more than one colour scheme provided on the day depending on cardstock & DSP supplies

In this class you will make this fabbo little gift box plus a card. The box has a see through lid with 4 compartments that can hold any type of small treasures. You will also learn how to make the cute little acetate box which is just perfect for holding 3 Ferrero Rochers. The other two smaller compartments are just perfect for small bags of nuts or lollies, with the middle one able to hold a small gift such as undies, socks, or a gift voucher. I will supply the nuts, chockies and lollies, but the undies are up to you!!

When: August 21st
Where: old convent complex, 1 Fireman St, COLAC
Time: 1 - 3.30pm
Cost: $25/head (includes everything you need)

RSVP by Wednesday 18th August to reserve your place. Numbers are limited and bookings are essential.

Just as an aside, even though this class is tailored for Father's Day, this design can be used for any occasion by simply changing the colour scheme and the sentiment on the card!

Techniques group

I have had a wonderful response to the announcement of my techniques group. In fact, I am now running 2 groups - they will mirror each other but just held at different times. As such, I have a couple of free spaces me ASAP if you are interested.

At the moment, the times and locations of these groups are:

9.30 – 11am

1st Wednesday of month

My house

(directions to be provided)

7.30 – 9pm

2nd Friday of month

Convent complex,

1 Fireman St COLAC

I envisage that each session will last approx 1 hour, but I have allowed 1.5hrs each just to be safe. The cost will be $15 per session and for this, you will learn and practice a different stamping technique each time, make a good copy for your learning journal, and also make a card using the new technique. Tea and coffee will also be supplied. The first session will actually be $30 and this will include the provision of a learning journal which will store all your technique samples and directions for future reference.

If you cannot make a session, you will still pay the $15 and I will arrange a mutually suitable time to go over the technique with you (possibly before or after the next session).

I look forward to hosting these groups and remember, I still have a couple of free spaces.

A bit of a technical hiccup

As much as I like to think that I am computer savvy, I am not. I mean, I can operate most windows based programmes, I can certainly post blogs, I can even operate our farm website, but I am occasionally reminded just how much I rely on the "face" of the programmes I use when things don't work like they should.

The case in point here is, the blogsite template that I use has disappeared. Noticed that? It is because of a whole website/picture use/bandwidth issue that has nothing to do with me and is something I don't understand anyway. Suffice to say that the place I access it from has to change servers and the codes we use also have to change. And this is where I am coming unstuck.

Because EVERYONE who has free blog templates from this particular company is obviously trying to change their codes AT THE SAME TIME and I can't get on! Sigh. So I tried another company, but the uploading thing is different and they are telling me to save my doo-dads and elements and whatsits and other things I have no idea about to a backup area, and to be quite's all too hard.

I've sat here for near on 2 hours now and am in a worse spot than I was before. So bugger it....I am just going to wait for everyone to sort themselves out, hop online later in the week and hopefully everything will be smooth sailing. At this point in time, I wish I were further up the design line of the company that is going to create my new blog template (which will be mine...all mine...and no-one can change it on me!!) so I didn't have to worry about this, but I am still a couple of months away.

So for the meantime, we are on 'minimalistic' blog design. Stay tuned......

Cardstock substitution

We just received information from Stampin' Up! regarding stocks of A4 cardstock. As there has been an increased demand in cardstock in retiring colours, some stocks are running low, or running out completely. For the colours listed below, SU! will be substituting textured cardstock in place of smooth cardstock that has run out - including A4. This is only until all stocks are depleted and then they won't be available at all.

  • Almost Amethyst A4 (item 108621)
  • Blush Blossom A4 (item 108617)
  • Cameo Coral A4 (item 108603)
  • Close to Cocoa A4 (item 108600)
  • Creamy Caramel A4 (item 106567)
  • Gable Green A4 (108592)
  • Lavender Lace A4 (item 108622)
  • Pale Plum A4 (item 108616)
  • Sage Shadow A4 (item 108620)
  • Taken with Teal A4 (item 108609)

Because the demand for each colour varies, we are unable to specify at what point textured card stock will be substituted for smooth. If you do not want to keep the textured card stock, we will gladly arrange for you to return it for a refund.

Other demonstrators tell me that they have received shipments of textured Pale Plum and Taken with Teal, so you can assume that smooth cardstock in these colours is no longer available.

Giving out tutorials & instructions

Some of my class participants have been asking me for the written tutorials for some of my classes. For a lot of my classes - such as the novelty card class I ran on the weekend - this is fine and I don't mind providing the instructions. After all, this is how we all learn and broaden our own ideas. But I want to advise I am unable to give out tutorials for other classes.

This is because they may be covered by copyright by another demonstrator who allows demos to teach the material, but not to distribute, or it may be a project that I wish to reserve the rights to myself (for publication purposes or for future sales etc). Of course, keen papercrafters can always work out the ins and outs of a particular project for themselves after completing a class, but bear in mind that much of the work goes on 'behind the scenes' including the development of the instructions and dimensions of the project.

I am sure you can appreciate my position and I don't wish to offend anyone by saying 'no'. I thank all my customers and class attendees for their understanding. Whilst I don't make a habit of providing written instructions, I will endeavour in future to advise in advance that a tutorial will not be provided on request. But again, if you ask and I have to decline, please don't be offended.

Don't forget the groups on offer

By now, my July newsletter should be safely stored on your computers somewhere. In that newsletter, I mentioned that I am offering 2 new groups;
  1. a new stamp club starting August
  2. a new techniques group starting either August/September
I now only have 1 place available for the stamp club, so if you are tossing up whether you should join or not, please get in touch and discuss details with me ASAP. It really is a good idea for those that are starting out, and also for those that are already into stamping. Because you commit to purchasing $50 every 2nd month, you are better able to budget your craft purchases. Plus, the added benefit is that you will earn free products and stamps once throughout the club year when you are the hostess! Remember, you DO NOT have to live local to me. This club is operated remotely; you place your orders with me at the specified time and...taadaa...your products arrive on your doorstep. I have ladies in the current club that live in Warrnambool and Melbourne and in the new club starting, one lady lives in northern NSW. Distance is certainly NOT a barrier.

I have a few more spaces available for the techniques group. This is run on a face to face basis, so obviously will suit people local to Colac and surrounds. Come and learn new stamping techniques which will enable you to not only produce more variety in your cards and scrapbook pages, but will also show you how to get more value out of the stamps and other products you purchase. This group will hold sessions once a month for approx 1 hour each session. The exact day and time is still be be determined (based on group make-up).

As both of these are pencilled to start in August, I would like to get names finalised ASAP. Give me a call to discuss and to place your name on the list. Don't miss out.

My boy is 5!

A quick personal post tonight....

My son Thomas turned 5 today. I simply can't believe that it was five years ago today that I fronted up to Francis Perry House for a c-section (because Tom was hindsight, it doesn't surprise me!!!!). Time is flying!

Here are a couple of pics, but if you want to see more and read a bit of a write up about my thoughts on being a mum, go to our farm blog (

For those that are unaware, Tom is dinosaur CRAZY and this is the 4th year running we have had this theme!

Two Step Stamping Promo

For the month of July, SU! is promoting the 2 step stamping technique. And to help this along, they are offering 20% selected stamps that are all 2 step sets!

This is a wonderful stamping technique and does not take very long to learn and master. For the month of July, any workshops that I run will feature this technique, which will give those that attend to opportunity to not only see this in action for themselves, but also have a go!

SU! are offering specials on 8 stamp sets - 2 of these are from the current mini catalogue and are available in either wood or clear mount, and 3 of them are on the list to retire as of the 1st September. This is a great opportunity to get yourself some of these stamps at fantastic prices!

Give me a call or send me an email to secure your order TODAY!

Stock sold out

SU! demonstrators have been notified that the following products are now SOLD OUT and will no longer be available for ordering:

  • Close to Cocoa A4 cardstock
  • Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP (12x12)

This has occurred due to 2 reasons; 1) the Close to Cocoa stocks ran out because this colour was placed on the retiring colour list and there was a big (huge) run on it from customers buying this up, and 2) the Sweet Slumber DSP ran out because it was part of the Deal of the Week specials and again, customers found this product (and price) attractive.

Because neither of these products are continuing beyond August 31 in the IB&C, SU! have made the decision that rather than go to the added expenses of shipping extra stock from the US to here for just a few weeks, they would clear the products off order availabilities.

Please note that this situation could arise with other stocks particularly any of the products that are in colours that have been placed on the retiring colour list. Again, I would strongly suggest that if you want to make sure you secure a particular product in a particular (retiring) colour, order it soon. Otherwise, you may miss out.

If you need to be reminded of the colours that are staying and those that are going, click on the PDF files on the right of my blog and download your own copies.

Monthly e-newsletter

I am just about to send out my monthly e-newsletter and I suddenly thought....there must be people that read this blog but don't get my newsletter. Shock, horror!! I know!!

I send out an email newsletter at the start of every month (usually....some months I'm more organised than others!) that generally has 3 main articles highlighting things like upcoming classes, product reviews, specials from SU! and also specials from me (Graceful Impressions). I also provide links to my own website, this blog and the SU! website. There are links to the current catalogues - in case you don't have one in your hot little hands - and notifications about important dates for that month.

If you have never received one of these e-newletters or have recently changed email addresses and are not getting them anymore, simply enter your email address in the brown box at the start of my blog and your email address will be automatically logged and you will start to receive them! Alternatively, shoot me an email and I will manually enter you into the system.

My July newsletter will go out sometime Monday (5th), giving anyone that needs to sign on the chance to do so before July's information hits the inboxes!
