Product bundles and shares

Because I am going to be away for the last week of September, I am extending the time frame to order the product bundles and product shares that I have on offer.

I will now take orders until FRIDAY OCTOBER 8th.

The Christmas bundle has proved very popular. Most customers have taken advantage of the suggested add on and purchased the rubons and the ink (you may interchange the Basic Black for another classic ink colour if you want). The Cherry Cobbler cardstock is to die for and will form the basis of many of my own Christmas cards this year.

I have a couple of places available for the buttons product shares pack, so if you would like to get your hands on a variety of buttons from the Regals, Brights and Subtles ranges, get in touch so I can finalise this share.

Just to let you know that I will be absent from my blog and also placing any orders from Monday 27th Sept through to Friday 1st Oct. I am going to be spending some time away with the family on a camping trip.

I may be able to sneak in another card picture before I go though!!

Background stamps

I must confess to not using background stamps much. Mainly because until recently, I didn't own any! I purchased the Medallion stamp when it was in the previous mini catalogue, but has now made it to the main IB&C (p 87) and have used that for a variety of projects including cards, bookmarks and book covers. (see examples HERE and HERE)

I recently saw this Belle Toile background stamp (also p 87) used by other demonstrators and thought that it was so effective. Let me tell you, it is MUCH better in real life than what you will see in the catalogue and online. Beautiful details and because of this, can form the basis for your whole card. As you can see, all I have added is a bit of cardstock and some ribbon. Simple, easy, effective and elegant.

Have a think about purchasing some background stamps for yourself. I think you will be very pleased that you have a couple in your stash.

Materials used:
Stamps - Belle Toile (b'ground), Just Believe
Ink - Basic Black
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Other - 1 1/4" black striped GG ribbon, dimensionals

Tags

Just quick post tonight to show you some tags I whipped up today. These tags use 2 of the new DSP: - Love Letters and the specialty Sweet and Sour.

I've taken a picture of me holding one of the tags so you get an idea of the size. They are quite large (approx 14 x 6cm), enabling you to write a decent message on the back if you wish.

These took no time at all to bang out. The DSP is so nice, that it does most of the work for you. Depending on the particular pattern you choose, you may not need any stamping at all!

Materials used:
Stamps - Just Believe, Artistic Etchings, Printed Petals, Thankyou Kindly, Friends Never Fade
DSP - Sweet and Sour, Love Letters
Cardstock - Naturals Ivory
Ink - Rich Razzleberry, Peach Parfait, Chocholate Chip, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Other - Pumpkin Pie taffeta ribbon, White Organza ribbon, sponge, dimensionsals, slot punch (retired)

Don't forget about product shares

I have a few names down for the product shares that I announced a week or so ago. I am still looking for names of those that would be interested in taking part to make up groups of 4.

Product shares are an ideal way of getting a variety of product into your stash without having to buy full packets. This way, you can determine if a product is really to your liking, or you can just use the smaller number you get on projects.

Click HERE to see the product shares on offer.

The product bundles have been popular...in particular the Christmas bundle which includes the very cute Dasher a la carte stamp. I've had feedback to offer more of this type of special, so keep an eye out throughout the year for bundles that I may offer, especially at the start of a mini catalogue release.

My Greenhouse Gala class was well attended and I am in preparation for the October class which will be CHRISTMAS CARDS (Lordy...Chrissy stuff already!!!). Stay tuned for more details. This class will be quite popular, so don't delay in booking in for it. I am limited in the number of people that can attend the class due to space, so don't be the one to miss out! I keep a a booking list for each class, so feel free to email me anytime to book your place in upcoming classes.

Male birthday

Thought you might like to see a card that I made today for my Father-in-law. Like many of you, I am also challenged to make mens cards. So I drew some inspiration from the IB&C to make this one. Check out page 83 and you will see that I got the idea for my card from both of the ones
that are published.

And that is why you should keep your catalogues even AFTER they are finished. Because you can use them to get ideas to make cards and scrapbook pages.

Materials used:
Stamps - Natures Nest, Occasional Quotes (hostess level 2)
Cardstock - Naturals Ivory, More Mustard
DSP - Newsprint
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Old Olive marker
Other - Hemp twine, spritzer, Kindyglitz (non SU!)

Workshop "Make and Take"

Some people may be considering hosting a workshop, especially in light of the fantastic incentives that I am offering to hostesses in September and October. But you might like to know a little more about how I run them.

After confirming a date with me, I discuss with the hostess what she would like to see me demonstrate (such as tools, products, colours etc). This discussion can go one of 2 ways; either the hostess has an idea of what she would like me to do based on what may be in a catalogue or what she may wish to learn a bit more about, or she leaves it completely up to me.

All of the workshops that I currently have booked in September and October fall into the latter category. And this is great because it allows me to showcase products and tools from the new catalogue. Sometimes - especially when there is a new catalogue - it is a bit overwhelming to choose and this is where I can help.

Each hostess will receive a hostess pack which contains a number of invitation cards, some guidance on who to invite, extra order forms for those that cannot make it, wish lists, information on joining my team and a FREE Ideas Book and Catalogue (RRP $12.95).

Prior to the workshop, I also find out from the hostess how many people are already stampers (cardmakers or scrapbookers) and how many are complete newbies. This allows me to "pitch" the cards at the most appropriate level and also allows me to focus on aspects of the business and the products that the guests would really be interested in.

On the day, after welcoming everyone, I typically begin with a very simple - but effective - project. Something like making a bookmark or a gift voucher holder. This project serves to show how simple and quick papercrafting can be.

Corner bookmark

I would then talk about the catalogue, highlighting any areas the hostess may have indicated and also talk about the hostess incentives and the benefits that the hostess of the day will receive. This is also an ideal time to discuss new things happening (such as new stamps or tools), or any specials that are being offered (by either SU! or myself).

I typically demonstrate 2 - 3 cards depending on time limitations and how intricate the cards are, and each guest also makes a card or small project. By allowing guests to get their hands on the actual products, it helps them to understand the products better and get a real appreciation for the quality.

Sneak peek of a Make and Take for the September workshops!

Over a cuppa and a snack, I would then take any orders from guests wanting to place on the day and confirm the shipping, the dates to get outstanding monies to the hostess and any other details that needed to be covered. This is an ideal opportunity for guests to look through my samples and to ask me any questions that they may have. Of course, this is the ideal time to book a workshop for any other guests! Especially when they see what the hostess is getting for FREE!

Oh, and did I mention that? I do all this for FREE and the hostess has the opportunity to earn FREE stamps and FREE products! That's right. It costs you absolutely NOTHING (except provision of a cuppa and snacks) to host a workshop. And NONE of the hostess benefits offered by SU! are dependent on anyone else booking a workshop. So if no-one else decides to hold a workshop in the future, that's fine. The hostess does not miss out on any incentives.

What are you waiting for? With a new catalogue that began only a couple of weeks ago, now is the ideal time to host a workshop, because everyone wants new things! Either give me a call or shoot me an email to arrange a date. I would LOVE to come and spend a couple of hours with you and your friends/family discussing SU! products and having a really good time!

a la carte stamps

For those of you with the new catalogue in your hot little hands, you will have noticed that for the first time, single stamps - or a la carte stamps - have made it into the main book. We saw these introduced to our market through a couple of the mini cattys, and they were obviously a huge hit, as SU! has decided to make them a regular feature!

These stamps are perfect for the beginner as you can buy a stamp, some ink and some mixed cardstock and not break the bank! Or, they are ideal to give as a small gift to another crafting friend. Plus, the 'kind heart' stamp covers anyone that wants to make cards to sell, under the angel policy (speak to me for further details on this).

I ordered the 'For You Flower' stamp which is matched to the 'Fancy Flower Extra Large' punch (p146). Using these two products together makes for a very easy and quick card. I have made the card pictured for my father-in-law for Father's Day. I don't think that it matters that it is a flower. Construct your card in manly colours and it is perfect. For the card shown, I stamped the entire image in Pacific Point ink on Whisper White cardstock before punching out. I then cleaned the stamp, coloured in just one portion of the words (in this case, For You) with a Real Red marker and then punched this out using a 1" circle punch. I layered this over the top using a dimensional. I think this gives it a little something extra for not a lot of effort.

Give me a call to place your orders out of the 2010-11 catalogue. Stay tuned for product shares and product bundles that will be announced this weekend. I will also be announcing some great incentives courtesy of Graceful Impressions for hostesses that hold a workshop in September or October.

Materials used:
Stamp - For You Flower (a la carte)
Cardstock - Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink - Pacific Point, Real Red marker
Other - Pacific Point striped gg ribbon (retired), Fancy Flower punch, 1" circle punch, dimensionals

OMG...today is THE DAY!

I can't believe it has taken me all day to get in here and post about the NEW CATALOGUE, but unfortunately, I have become a bit ill and am not feeling the best (I have developed mastitis...yuk) and maybe facing a stint in hospital if antibiotocs don't do their job in next 36 hrs.

Anyway, enough about me and my woes.....onto bigger and better stuff! The new catalogue.

All of my ladies that are either part of a stamp club or put in a pre-order have now recevied their copies of the 2010-11 IB&C. All reports are that they are LOVING it and spending heaps of time drooling over it.

Did you not get a copy?

Then contact me and I'll get you one out ASAP. Price is $10 for pickup/hand delivery or $15 incl postage if you need it to be sent. I realise that paying for a catalogue is not the norm for some of you, but please trust me when I tell you that it will be one of the best investments you will make in your crafting. The ideas alone will put you in good stead for years to come. I still refer to back copies of mine for inspiration. Just think about how much you spend on crafting magazines each month. They are at least $9.95 (if not more) and often contain about 50% adverts.

I will be running a number of product shares and product bundles this month, so stay tuned for the announcement of these in the next day or so right here or on my newsletter (which will be out by end of the week at least).

Tomorrow I will post details and pictures for my next class which will be run on September 18th which will be using new DSP, new stamps and new embellishments! I already have places booked for this class, so if you don't want to miss out, I suggest you get in quick. Numbers are limited (due to space and contact time) and all of my classes for the past 5- 6 months have been fully subscribed. Don't miss out...you will want to attend this one!

This is the card that I made for all the ladies that pre-ordered the new catalogue. They also received the bookmark shown in a previous post. For anyone that purchases a catalogue from me during the month of September, I will also give you a bookmark as well!

Materials used:
Stamps - Cute by the Inch (hostess level 2 set...ONLY available to qualifying hostesses!)
