Another sneak peek!

With the launch of the Summer Mini catty only a matter of a week or so away, I am getting organised with my deliveries of these beauties to my regular customers.

All customers that have purchased off me in the last 12 months will automatically receive a catalogue - either in person or in your mail box. If you would like to get a FREE copy, but have not made a recent purchase off me, please email me with your name and postal address and I'll get one in the mail.

This 12x12 scrapbook layout uses a few new items from both the IB&C and the upcoming mini. I have finally gotten around to using my 'Nursery Suite' DSP and as I have previously admitted to lovin' the bling, I have also used quite a few of my pearls and rhinestones too. But, you will spy another bling item on the page - the gold spray! Yes, this spritz is a new item in the catty, as is the stamp and the DSP. Actually, the DSP is REALLY interesting. It appears blank, until you put ink or dye or chalk or something of the like on it. And then the pattern appears. Cool!

If you would like to see some of the new items in real life, then give me a call to book a workshop and have me come and show them to you and your friends. I am reasonably open in the last part of January and am available to take bookings now.

Materials used:
Cardstock - Presto Patterns specialty DSP, Nursery Suite DSP, Whisper White
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Regal Rose
Stamps - Homemade (a la carte)
Other - Rhinestones, Pearls, Gold Smooch Spritz, 1 3/4 circle punch, sponge,
Non SU! Products - Rub-ons

Birthday party favours

I was so impressed by how the Probus boxes came up a few weeks back, that I decided to make some up for Biddy's birthday and use them as the party favour containers.

These are super super simple, because apart from cutting out the box using the Fancy Favours die in my Big Shot, I just stamped the image of the horse (that matched the invites I made) on thre front prior to assembly. Then I just punched a couple of holes in the side and threaded through some of the new In-Colour ribbon.

excuse my messy desk!

I used 2 colours - pink for girls, green for boys - although I would have loved to use the Blushing Bride colour for all of them as I think it is a really good pink. The best that SU! have ever released (in my opinion!)

Materials used:
Cardstock - Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz
Stamp - Pony Party
Ink - Concorde Crush
Other - Concorde Crush ribbon, Sticky Strip, Fancy Favours die, Big Shot

A note on returning goods

I have just had reason to contact SU! customer service regarding a faulty product. Yes, even SU! occasionally find that there may be a fault with either an individual item or a batch of items. As a general rule, these faults are picked up pretty quickly and SU! put measures in place to rectify the problem before you the customer are impinged upon. But sometimes, one item that may not be 100% sneaks through, and needs to be returned.

SU! is committed to customer service and pride themselves on their high quality products. However, it is important to note that products can only be returned to SU! within 90 days of purchase. Generally, it is a no questions asked policy, especially if there is an obvious fault. But you must return within 90 days or else you will not be able to get a replacement.

So, I ask you to make sure that everything you get:
a) is exactly what you ordered
b) is in good working order (especially punches and tools)
c) has the correct number of components (such as number of stamps in a box)
d) has no obvious faults (such as a stamp image not working)

If you have a problem with anything you get, please contact me ASAP. Whilst a lot of orders come through me and are repacked to be delivered to you, I don't open packages and inspect goods. That is up to you. For those that have orders posted directly to you, the onus is on you to ensure that the whole order is accounted for in the package (making note of any items that are on backlisting and will be posted separately).

No sooner did I say that........

Whilst I was typing my last post lamenting the poor connection my computer had to the rest of our computers and the internet, my darling husband - unbeknown to me - was fixing my connection! So everything is running ok now....for the minute. Some big changes will be afoot as far as technology is concerned in this house. We are going to be buying an Apple laptop to run my stamping business from and keep it disconnected from the rest of our intranet. This will save me a lot of grief I feel, but may cause some periods of frustration as this PC lovin' gal learns to use a Mac.

Anyway, being back on my own computer means I can load up a few pics of stuff from the NEW MINI CATTY which will be winging its way to some of you in the next week or so.

As I mentioned in my newsletter - and I think this blog - ALL my stamp club girls, my technique club ladies and anyone that has purchased off me over the past 12 months will automatically receive a complimentary copy in the mail (or in person). If you do not fall into one of those three categories but would love to get your hands on this FREE catalogue, all you need to do is email me with a postal address and I'll get one out to you ASAP.

Here are a couple of pictures using some new products. The Christmas one was the same one I put on my newsletter and it uses a brand new embossing folder for your Big Shot (excuse the stamp set which is retired..last year's hostess gift, but it matched the punches behind....).

The second one uses a new stamp set - Avairy - and I have teamed it with some of the Daffodil Delight striped ribbon and the Sunny Garden DSP which are both new to the main IB&C. The sentiment comes from the level 3 hostess set, Occasional Quotes.

I will load another few things on here over the next couple of days, including a scrapbook page, so keep an eye out.

Dinner details

To any ladies that will be joining me for dinner THIS TUESDAY (23rd), the details are:

Cafe Nu Deli, Colac
Purchase own meals and drinks at venue's prices.

I have the following ladies as confirmed attendees:
  • Michelle C
  • Ashley C
  • Lil C
  • Lynne S
  • Carol C
  • Barb B
  • Heather A
If your name does not appear on this list but you would like to come, please contact me and let me know so I can confirm numbers with the venue.

As an aside, I am having some computer issues at the moment. We run a number of computers at home/dairy, and they are all linked. However, my computer that I run all my stamping business from is not talking to the other computers just now (being a bit snobbish I think!). Whilst I can access my emails and blog from other computers, sending emails and loading photos onto my blog is a little difficult as all those things are on my computer. don't really realise how much we've come to rely on technology until it doesn't work for us!

Hopefully this issue will be fixed ASAP and I will load a few more things out of the upcoming mini catty on here for you.

Nifty new link

I have just sent out my November newsletter, so check your inboxes. The company I use to host my newsletters have recently had a bit of an overhaul and one of the thing they have introduced is a link to all past newsletters. As I have recently met a number of new customers that I have referred to this blog, I thought that there may be some interest in looking at some of my past newsletters.

If you would like to have a squizz at any previous newsletter, please click HERE and you will be taken to a list which you can select which ones you want to read (or all of them!)

Birthday invites

My middle child - Biddy - is rapidly coming up to her 3rd birthday. Hence, Christmas is rapidly coming up too, as they fall on the same day! Because she has such a tragic birth date, we celebrate her day a month earlier. As such, it always seems to take me by surprise. Fortunately, she is still young enough to have just a few family and the odd friend come to celebrate and she thinks it is a huge deal. God love 'em!

I finished her birthday invites this afternoon. Biddy is horse mad...and I mean of course, when I saw this Pony Party set in the old autumn/winter catty, I had to buy it for her. Luckily for me, it made the current IB&C, so I have an opportunity to show you my creations as well.

These invites started out COMPLETELY differently in my head. Isn't that the way though? And even as I was actually constructing them, I was changing bits and pieces. Hence, they took much longer than they should have, but I am thrilled with them. As you can see in the pic, I used a range of colours for both the horses and the cardstocks.

Biddy with one of her invites

The benefit of doing small things like this (these cards measure 11 x 10cm) is that you can use up cardstock scraps, ribbon scraps and for the acetate wings, I used some window sheets left over from my Greenhouse Gala class. Some bits are new though, such as the colours (inks and cardstock), ribbon and of course the corner punch.

On the weekend just gone, I attended the SU! Regionals in Melbourne. I had a great time, participated in some swaps and practiced some techniques that I had long forgotten. One of these was the watercolouring which is how I coloured in the horses on the invites. I was all inspired. I will come back with a separate post on Regionals later on.

Finally, I am about to send out my November newsletter (yes, yes.... running late again!), and in it, I remind my customers that in the run up to Christmas and gift giving, that I am able to provide gift vouchers. Gift vouchers start at $25 and go as high as you would like to spend. These are perfect to give to someone that is interested in crafting as they can use the money to spend on any SU! products, or they might like to use the money for a class. In addition, if YOU would like to receive one from loved ones, simply tell them to contact me via mobile or email and I will sort all the details out for them. For Christmas, I will even package the vouchers up and have them ready to simply hand over on the 25th December. Easy, simple, quick and WANTED Christmas presents!

Christmas dinner for local ladies

I have been approached to arrange a dinner for my customers to celebrate Christmas. Ok, it is really just an excuse to go out for dinner!

I am throwing out a date and will determine whether there is enough interest to go ahead.

Date: Tuesday 23rd November
Time: 7pm
Place: TBA, but probably Nu Deli or Union in Colac
RSVP: as soon as you can so I can determine if this is a goer or not. I will need firm numbers by at least Friday 19th to confirm any booking (especially if a number of us are going to attend)
Cost: Buy your own meal and drinks at venue prices.

Contact me via email using "RSVP dinner" in the email title (it will catch my attention that way).

Sorry ladies...I have been somewhat MIA (missing in action). I have been very busy with stamping stuff, scrapbooking, kids, life in general.... I've had my little one to and from the doctors due to being classified as "failing to thrive", and my 5yo decided he would try his hand at hairdressing.......on his 2.5yo sister!

But I have been productive on the papercraft side of things. My mum is in a local Probus group and they commissioned me to make up some little boxes for their Christmas function in late November. I made 80 of them - 40 in Wild Wasabi and 40 in Poppy Parade using the Big Shot "Fancy Favour" die.

I used the Contempo Christmas set, plus the sentiment on the reverse side is from the level 3 hostess gift set "Occasional Quotes" And I could hardly have a Christmas bag without glitter! I used the gold and the silver from the new "Fine Galaxy" range.

These boxes will be filled with treats that other ladies are supplying (biscuits, coffee, tea bags, truffles etc) and I also supplied the cellophane bags to package the food items into.

I'm so impressed with how they look, I am using the same Big Shot die to make birthday treat bags for Biddy's 3rd birthday party at the end of November.
