Clear windowpanes

Today I have recreated the card from page 16 in the Autumn Winter Mini catty using the 'Clearly for You' stamp set and the 'Bevelled Windowpanes'.

Two reasons I did this card:
1) I think it is important to show that even us demonstrators CASE (copy and share everything) cards from others and from catalogues and magazines.  YOU should too!  That is what the catalogues and IB&C is there for!  Why waste time trying to think of a great design for a project, when often they are right in front of you.  And let's face it - the majority of people you give your cards to will NEVER know you lifted the idea straight from a catalogue!

2) The main reason I did this card was to use the Bevelled Windowpanes.  Now I know that it is not that clear (no pun intended!) in the catalogue to see exactly what these are.  So I have taken a couple of pics to show you.

Essentially, they are pieces of acrylic that are bevelled at the sides and have little slots in them to allow ribbon to be passed through.  You don't have to use ribbon, you can just use the windowpane if you like, but you will see the little slots if you do this.  This may not be a biggie to you, and if not, go ahead and use them as such.

The windowpanes are NOT white as shown in the catty.  This was done so you could see the actual product.  They are in fact CLEAR.  They are sized to match the Clearly for You stamp set.  The largest windowpane exactly covers the larger rectangle stamp in the aforementioned set.  You get 12 windowpanes in total in each packet (4 or each of the 3 sizes) and each comes in its own little plastic bag to make sure they don't scratch either other in transit or storage.

3 different sizes - refer to catty for exact measurements
To adhere to your projects, just use a mini glue dot.  I initially used glue dots behind the ribbon, but I found that the windowpane was still lifting off the card (even though it was firmly attached) on the top and bottom.  I simply placed another glue dot on the edge of the top and the bottom.  You can't tell that there are glue dots there unless you look REALLY hard.

Anyway, I hope that this clarifies this product for you.  It is really a tops little product and I am quite taken with it.  In real life, the card looks really special and for not a lot of cost or effort, it stands out as something quite special.  Have a think about buying this stamp set and the windowpanes to make some cards up for Mothers Day.

Materials used:
Stamp set - Clearly for You
Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White
DSP - Baja Breeze Patterns
Inks - Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Other - Bevelled Windowpanes, Baja Breeze ribbon (retired), Hemp Twine, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and Big Shot, Glue dots
(items marked in orange are in the Autumn Winter mini catty)

I'm back!

I'm back on board as of today, well rested but feeling like the holiday was not long enough!  Isn't that always the way?  If you are at all interested, you can read about our holiday escapades including some pictures by visiting our farm blog (HERE).

The entire time I was away, I didn't do any stamping.  I did call into a craft shop whilst I was away and picked up a few knick knacks, but on the whole, I kept away from crafting.  I needed to recharge my batteries and mojo!  But I am back and have heaps of ideas to work on.

One thing I will be announcing in the next week or so is my new LOYALTY REWARDS package.  As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I exceeded my yearly sales figures (that I set myself) and that could not have been achieved with you, my customers.  As a result, I want to give something back.  It will cost nothing to join and you can earn FREE stamps.  Keep an eye on this blog!

For anyone that would like a workshop, I don't have any weekend's free in May but I do have some vacancies in June if you would like to book.  Let me know ASAP as dates are being snapped up.  Of course, if you would like a mid week workshop (either day or night), this can be arranged and I have a number of options available.

Anyway, I am keeping this post short as I am still trying to get on top of washing and unpacking and I also want to break into some new goodies that arrived whilst I was away!

Am having a great break so the moment we are spending our last night in Merimbula and will be heading to Broulee tomorrow. is just going too fast.

What to get some 'tasters'? Or bundles?

If you quite like the look of some of the new products in the Autumn/Winter mini but are not 100% sure that you will use whole packets, then the following Product Shares may be right up your alley!  I also have Product Bundles on offer as well.  The difference with the bundles is that they include a stamp set and maybe other full items coupled with samples of paper and ribbon in a way that you can't normally purchase.

Both of these offers are perfect for those that would like to 'try before you buy' full amounts.  The shares are offered as a 1/4 share, meaning that I need four people for each group before I can commence (because I am ordering in full packs and breaking them up).  The bundles will be offered as a one on one basis.

Did you miss out?

OK.  Now I know that I say this every time a mini catty or the IB&C almost come to an end - "BUY NOW OR MISS OUT" - but sometimes life gets in the way and you don't always get your order in.  Well, for the Summer Mini that has recently ended, there are some carry over items.

This means, that if you missed out on ordering some of your favs, you may be in luck.  If they are on this flyer, then they are still available.  Get in quick though as once stocks are gone, they will be GONE.

Shoot me an email if you would like to grab any of these items.

Buttons. Big ones!

Time to start rolling out projects using some of the items out of the new mini catalogue.  If you would like to get your own FREE copy of the mini, simply email me your postal details and I'll pop one in the mail next week.

The mat pack and paper piercer teamed with a white gel pen creates a sewn look around the edge of the card

Some of the items that caught my eye immediately when I opened the mini were the items on pages 6 through 10.  No I am NOT a sewer myself.  I dabble, but I could never ever say that I can sew,  Not without my mum sitting beside me the whole time.  But my mum, mum-in-law, sister-in-law, and cousin-in-law are all mad quilters and of course, I can see them all loving this range.  I showed you all a project that I made for my SIL using this range where I gave her some fat quarters all packaged up like a little kit.

But for me, I love the new buttons.  They are shown at 50% of the real life size in the catty, so you can see that they are a decent size - the largest is 2.5cm or 1" across.  And they feel really nice to handle too...not flimsy and brittle.

Get yourself some of these and also throw in some of the pom pom trim.  It is beautiful to touch...all velour-y (is that a word?! now).  Start making some cards for the quilters and sewers in your life.  Trust me, they will be chuffed.

I have had some inquiries about product shares.  I will be announcing these either tomorrow or Monday. Keep an eye on the blog!

It's here!

The Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue is LIVE today.  Yes, we are faced with 23 pages of all NEW products from SU! and it is just great!  I love new catalogue time.

All my current customers will have either received a catty already, or it is in the mail winging its way to you as I type.  If you have not purchased off me in the past 12 months and would like your own FREE copy, then just email me with your postal details and I'll make sure you get one ASAP.

Over the weekend, I will be announcing my product shares and product bundles that will be available from this catalogue.  These will be offered for a limited time only, so if you want to get in on the fun and the assistance with choosing products, I urge you to contact me ASAP after announcement.

Also, do not forget the class that I have announced for April.  This class is not only for face to face attendees, but also is being offered as a Class By Mail.  I have had a number of customers ask me for more Class By Mail projects, so here is the first of a few over the year.  I would love your support on this.
