More sneak peeks

Oh, it is getting very close to the mini catty going live.  In fact, over the next couple of days, my techniques groups and stamp club members will all be getting their copies!  It will make my sneak peeks redundant somewhat, but of course I will still put up examples.

Today's peeks come to you courtesy of a class that I have been doing.  Yes, even demonstrators need to learn new techniques and styles!  I am learning a number of techniques to get 'moveability' onto cards (I really am not sure of that term, but it sounded good in my head!!).  Mind you, these cards should come with a warning......some are quite intricate and take a bit of time to construct.  So they are not ones that I would recommend whipping up 5 minutes before you need a card.

I have used mainly new DSP on these cards - Sweet Shop - and it comes with a couple of sheets of embossed paper.  The White dot/Wisteria paper and the White hearts/Coral paper (background) that are pictured are the 2 that are embossed.  Really lovely.

I will post more details later on, but to give you a heads up, my April class will feature products from the new mini catty AND will also incorporate at least 2 of these more intricate cards (not necessarilly the ones pictured).  So if you would like to learn some nifty techniques that are really cool, then pencil out April 21st from 1pm and join me.  Email me ASAP to book your place as spots will go VERY quickly and I am limited in numbers I can accept.

New Calendar

I am trying to work out how to link a calendar onto here....not as easy as I thought!  However, I though that as we are now at the tail end of March, I would get cracking with letting you know my movements and availabilities for April.

As mentioned in THIS POST, I am implementing a new monthly calendar which will highlight my available workshop spots.  Some of these dates will be known as STAR DATES and if you book a workshop on one of these dates, you will receive an extra surprise from me on top of all the usual goodness that you get as a hostess.

Until I can work out the calendar, here are my April dates:
  • April 1: Autumn Winter Mini catalogue available to order from
  • April 1 - 9: Unavailable for workshops, tech groups & classes.  Orders submitted to me via email will be processed
  • April 12: Available for workshop in evening (STAR DATE)
  • April 14: Available for workshop day or evening (STAR DATE)
  • April 15: Available for workshop day or evening (STAR DATE) Afternoon timeslot TAKEN
  • April 20: Available for workshop in evening
  • April 21: April Class starting @ 1pm
  • April 22: Available for workshop in day
  • April 27: Available for workshop in evening
  • April 28: Available for workshop in day or evening
  • April 29: Available for workshop in day

Please let me know if you would like to secure one of these dates for a workshop.  We will be showcasing new products from the Autumn Winter catalogue at all April workshops!  Exciting stuff.

Another sneak peek

I'm on fire!  Three posts with pictures in three days!  Trust me, it won't last! LOL

(card based on Sweet Sunday sketch #151)
But as I mentioned in my last post about the Framelits, you can use these dies as either stand alone (such as yesterday's example) or use a number of them for matting.  This card shows you how I have used 2 of the Framelits (in this case, the second and third smallest ones in the Labels Collection set).  I'm not sure if you can tell by the photo, but I have used Log Cabin Smooch Spritz on the Soft Suede one before adhering the stamped one over the top with dimensionals.

The stamp set is the new item on today's card.  The image and the sentiments come from the set Rue Des Fleurs.  If you love the stamp sets Established Elegance, French Foliage, Elements of Style, Artistic Etchings or Vintage Vogue, then you are going to love this one.  Very whimsical and vintage, with a nice number of stamps in the set including a couple of sentiments.  Keep an eye out for this one in the Autumn Winter catalogue!

Again, the DSP I have used is the Twitterpated range.  As you can see from my last three posts, there is quite a variation in this pack and yet, they work beautifully together.

If you have attended one of my in home workshops recently, you may have had the opportunity to see me demonstrate the flower that I have on the card.  A couple of the workshops actually made these themselves as part of a Make and Take.  If you would like to learn how to make these flowers, book a workshop with me and I'd love to show you!

Materials used:
Stamp - Rue Des Fleurs
Ink - Chocolate Ship, Soft Suede & Cherry Cobbler inks; More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette & Lucky Limeade markers
Paper - Twitterpated DSP, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede & Naturals Ivory cardstocks
Other - Glimmer brad, Framelits - Labels Collection, Big Shot, Circle Scallop punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Modern Label punch round file (from distressing kit), Log Cabin and Gold Glow Smooch Spritzs

Another Autumn Winter sneak peek

Here you go....another sneak peek.  This card is a very simple one and that is because the "busy-ness" of the DSP does most of the work for me.

So what is new on this card?  Well, I used the Twitterpated DSP again out of the same pack that yesterday's scrapbook layout came from.  Isn't the paper designs just divine?  I also used more of the Pleated Satin ribbon, this time in Red Riding Hood.  I could use this ribbon forever.  Two brand new items are the frame which is one of a set of Framelits - Labels Collection for your Big Shot and the stamp set.

For those that are not aware of what Framelits are, they are wafer thin dies that come in a set (in this instance a set of 6) and range in sizes but are all the same shape.  This means that you can cut stand alone shapes (like I have done), or you can use multiple sizes to create mats.  I will do this on another card in a day or so to illustrate this point.

The stamp set - Bordering on Romance - is a new set for the mini and works in with the Twitterpated range.  However, this stamp set also has some features that match it to something else which is in the new catty that I will show you in a day or two!

So stay tuned and come back and visit.  More sneak peeks to come!!!

Materials used:
Stamp - Bordering on Romance
Inks - Basic Grey and Soft Suede inks, Bashful Blue, Blushing Bride, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Pear Pizzazz markers
Paper - Twitterpated DSP, Naturals Ivory cardstock
Other - Pleated Satin ribbon in Red Riding Hood, Framelit - Labels Collection, Big Shot, sponge, Gold Smooch Spritz

Autumn Winter mini sneak peek

Ok, as promised, here is a sneak peek from the upcoming Autumn Winter mini.  And I dedicate this particular peek to Michelle Caspar and Terri Hawke who both did their best to get out of me at Saturday's class exactly what was in the catty!!  So just for you gals, I have included the pleated satin ribbon on the layout!  Yes, it is IN.

(Click on layout to see a larger view)
New items featured on this layout include the pleated satin ribbon (Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride) and new Designer Series Paper - Twitterpated.  I want to draw your attention to two other features of this layout; the circle and the title.  The circle was made from Red Riding Hood cardstock using my Circle Scissors Cutter.  It has been a long time between drinks for this baby, and really, it is a crime on my behalf for not getting it out more often.  It is such an easy tool to use and you can really add some great focus to your scrapbook layouts and cards.  The circles can be cut up to 6" and as low as 1".  Unlike the circle punches however, you can create rings such as what I have done in any of the sizes I just mentioned.  Check it out on page 149 of the IB&C and consider adding it to your supply of tools.

The second item I would like to comment on is the title and how I created it.  I have recently acquired the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet sizzlet and it is GREAT.  Never again am I going to run out of the letter "e" or "s" and I can cut all letters in lower or uppercase PLUS numbers as well.  I have to admit to struggling a bit with my titles when using solely SU! products, but struggle no more.  For added effect, I simply used a white gel pen on the leading edge of each letter.  Nothing more.

As always, there is some beautiful items in the upcoming catty.  For those of you that like matched products, you will be in for a treat.  For those that have a Big Shot - especially those that recently participated in my Big Shot club - you will love the brand new offerings in the mini.  And for those that like textures, smells and whimsy, you have not been forgotten.

Yes, I know that I am teasing you....it's just that I CAN!  Ha ha ha....  Remember, if you would like to receive a FREE mini catty by April 1st, simply email me your postal details and I will make sure one is winging its way to you shortly*.
(*Hostess club (aka stamp club), and technique group members need not contact me as you will automatically receive a catalogue)

Ok, stay tuned for more sneak peeks TOMORROW!!

Autumn Winter Mini on its way

As we enter the final weeks of the Summer Mini catalogue - and hasn't it been a good one?! - we start to turn our thoughts to what is coming up to replace it.  As a Stampin' Up! demo, I have the new catalogue in my hot little hands.....I have also had the benefit of ordering some product out of it!  I have this in my possession as of yesterday too, so expect to see some sneak peeks over the next week or so.

Mini catalogues are FREE and I will be starting to ship and deliver these the week beginning 26th March.  So if you would like your very own copy, please contact me and I'll ensure one makes it to your place in time for the launch on April 1st.

All hostess (stamp) club and technique group members will automatically receive a catalogue, so there is no need for these members to contact me.  For everyone else, just email me with your name and preferred postal address and expect to see this little baby very soon!

As of April 1st, I am also implementing a new calendar which I am attempting to make available on this blog (on the sidebar).  The calendar will feature key dates that I am available for workshops, some of them highlighted as STAR days.  If you book a workshop on a STAR day with no prompting from me, you will get an extra hostess treat from me.  More information about this coming up in my April newsletter and also on here.

Last weeks

Just a reminder for everyone that we are into the final weeks of the Summer Mini Catalogue AND Sale-a-bration AND my Lucky Envelopes!

If you want to get your hands on any of these items, you should order them now to avoid disappointment.  Once the cattys are finished the products are impossible to source again.  Don't miss out.

A few weeks back I mentioned that I put my name - and creative talents - into the ring in the hope of securing a design team place on a sketch blogsite (STUCK?!).  I received a reply a week ago on my application.  Unfortunately, there was not enough interest in the cards side of things for them to warrant a card design team member, and for the moment they are sticking with just scrapbooking sketches.  So whilst I didn't get a position, I wasn't exactly rejected either (phew!).  But I thought I would show you the card that I made from the sketch provided.

Thankyou to those that gave me a note of support.  It was greatly appreciated.

Materials used:
Stamps - Established Elegance, Curly Cute
Cardstock - Marina Mist, Soft Suede, Beau Chateau DSP, First Edition DSP
Inks - Red Riding Hood, Basic Black, Early Espresso, Always Artichocke
Other - Marina Mist seam binding ribbon, Little Leaves sizzlet, Big Shot, Circle #2 die, Ribbon border punch, Isocol & Champagne Shimmer Paint mix

March class - Beyond the Garden cards

(the gift box we will be making will differ from the one in the picture)
I have had a few regulars need to take a raincheck on Saturday's class meaning I have a few vacant spots that I don't normally have.  If you would like to come along and create some cards in a cute little gift box all for the low price of $25 per head (all inclusive), then contact me by THURSDAY at the latest to book your place.

This class will use the stamp set Fabulous Florets and the DSP Beyond the Garden which both feature in the summer mini catalogue.  This catty finishes up on March 31st, so this will be the last time you will be able to see these products in real life and have a play with them (unless you buy them of course!).  We will also be incorporating some heat embossing on the cards as well, so if this is something you are interested in learning, come along.

Date: Saturday 17th March
Place: old convent complex, 1 Fireman St COLAC
Time: 1pm
Cost: $25 pp
RSVP: by Thursday 15th March.  Bookings are essential as kits are prepared prior to the day.  A cancellation fee will apply if you cancel after Thursday.

If you are new to cardmaking or just considering getting into it, please contact me and book your place.  I would love to see some new faces in my classes and you will be provided with tuition throughout the session, enabling you to produce sale-worthy cards.

'Lucky Envelope' update

I have had a great response to my 'Lucky Envelopes'.  At the start, I had 65 numbered envelopes all containing a gift of at least $10 value.  One of the envelopes contains a Stamp and Store Caddy worth $64.95.

To date, I have given away 38 envelopes, which means I still have 27 gifts awaiting new and loving homes.  In amongst the gifts there is ribbon, brads, ink, stamp sets, punches, various embellishments, tools and also the Stack and Store Caddy which has not been won yet!  It is definitely in there and with only 27 envelopes left, it must be close to being won!

All you need to do to get yourself one of these envelopes is to place an order of at least $100.  This same  $100 order will also earn you a FREE Sale-a-bration item, and 1 Loyalty Rewards point in my loyalty program (some ladies are close to getting a free gift through this as well!).

Contact me ASAP to place your order.  Remember, the Summer mini catalogue, SAB and my Lucky Envelopes all finish on March 31st.....but don't leave it until the last few days to place an order (you will give me a heart attack!).
