Only 2 and a bit more days to go....

The Autumn Winter mini catalogue is about to go...and with it, some amazing products.  I think I mentioned when we received this catty that I thought it was the best one ever....and I still think this.  I have loved so many of the products in there and sadly I only discovered some of them quite late in the period.

I have whipped up a 12x12 scrapbook layout for you, showcasing just a few of the products that will disappear in a couple of days time.  I have used the Attic Boutique DSP, a Jelly Bean brad, a Twitterpated button (love these) and some of the Pool Party Bakers Twine and a sentiment form the Rue des Fleur stamp set.

Make sure that you don't miss out on anything that you desire out of this catalogue.  Nearly every time a catty retires, I have someone asking me to source some product that they wanted but didn't order.  DO NOT LET THIS BE YOU!  Contact me to place you order.

I will be accepting credit card orders until 9pm on Tuesday evening.  If you want to make a direct deposit, please ensure your order is to me by Monday 5pm in order for the funds to clear into my bank.

I hope you have enjoyed the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue and are looking forward to seeing the newly revamped "Holiday Mini" which will be coming out on September 1st!

Using up your scraps

Yesterday I posted a picture of 2 cards that used square scraps of the Sweet Shop DSP (in mini catty).  Today's picture shows another card using scraps....in a novel way.
This particular technique is called "Bargello" and it is from needlework where long stitches are made into various patterns.  In papercrafting, this is easily replicated by simply finding a suitable patterned paper (one with stripes) and then cutting it into small strips across the striped pattern.  You then simply lay the strips down on a piece of cardstock in a new pattern of your choosing.  You can see, I have tried to create a sort of wave pattern.

This really took me very little time and it is very effective.  I used the Well Worn DSP (IBC p129) which lends itself to creating effective masculine cards.

Give this technique a go yourself.  It is a great way to use up small bits of DSP that you have lying around!

Final week of the Autumn Winter mini

We are into the home stretch for the 2012 Autumn Winter mini catalogue.  On July 31st, most of the products in this catty will disappear FOREVER.  Don't miss out....make sure you place your order today.
These are a couple of cards that I made using the Sweet Shop speciality DSP.  It is a really cute and fun range of papers, and don't forget that they are matched with brads as well.  This is also a good way of using up scraps of DSP (I will post another idea tomorrow).

Materials used:
Cardstock - Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeaid, Whisper White, Pool Party, Island Indigo
Paper - Sweet Shop DSP
Ink - none
Stamps - none
Other - Very Vanilla and Pool Party seam binding, buttons from Brights pack, large square scallop die, Big Shot
Items in orange are in the Autumn Winter mini and will retire on 31st July

Happy New (Financial) Year!

Wow.  This year is really flying.  Or is it because I am getting older, it just seems like the years are going by faster?  Whatever the case, this month has really snuck up on me and I am running a tad late with my newsletter.  The July newsletter will be in your inboxes over the weekend.  If you are not signed up for it, it is very simple to do.  Enter your email address in the sign up box right here on this blog or send me an email and I'll manually enter you.  Easy!

With the start of the financial year, many business owners have had to get our ducks in a row from a financial or stock perspective.  But you too can take advantage of a new year starting and take stock of what you have.

Often we get caught up in checking out the brand new goodies that are coming through, such as stamps and ribbons.  However, this is a great time to take stock of what consumables you have on hand and what you may need for the coming months.

I recently had a conversation with a customer about the fact that she sat down to make some cards and realised that she had nearly no adhesive left!  There are just some things that you cannot do without.  So here is a quick checklist of things you might want to make sure you have enough of.  If not, place an order and I will get it delivered to you.  For those local to Colac, I am placing an order myself in the next few days, so you can jump in on this and save postage - especially if you are wanting to just buy one or two small things.
