Annual and Holiday catalogues launch

If you follow my Facebook page, or are on my e-newlsetter list, you may have already read that I am hosting (for only the second time ever) a launch of the new catalogues that are being released on September 1st.

This is an exciting event and I will be co-hosting it with my lovely downline Sharon McLeod.  We have both been working on developing up displays form both cattys to show you the products in real life and how they can work on cards, scrapbook pages and OTP projects.

The launch will be held on Sunday 9th September in Colac and you must book to reserve your place (and desired time slot).  Places are limited at both sessions, so don't delay.  People are already booking in.  Cost is $10pp.

There will be two sessions at 10.30am - 12.30pm and another at 2 - 4pm.  Both sessions are identical, so it is your choice which one you attend.  Along with displays of products and finished items, we will also have demonstrations, a make 'n take, gift bags, yummy refreshments, a retired stamp table (cash only for this), door prizes and more!  And of course, you will take home your very own copy of the Annual and Holiday catalogues.

I would love to show you some of the yummy stuff that is on offer!

Stamp Club starting September '12

Thankyou to all the ladies that have recently joined my next stamp club.  This is a post to let everyone know that the club is now FULLY SUBSCRIBED.  The next club will be starting in March 2013 (phew...seems ages away doesn't it?).  However, if you cannot wait that long (and remember, existing members get first dibs at having another go at the club, so all spots may be already filled...) you can start a club by just getting a few friends/family to join you.

We need 6 members to get a club going and everyone needs to commit for 12 months, spending $50 every second month.  However, you can still contact me with your name and I can pop you on a waiting list.  People on the waiting list are the first ones I contact when a spot opens up.

Again, thanks to the ladies that have recently signed up.  You can all expect an email in the next few days with all the club details.

Exciting news!

I have in my hot little hands the BRAND NEW CATALOGUES.  Yes, you read correct.  They are HERE.

All of my stamp club and technique group ladies will be getting their FREE copies over the next few days and will no doubt be drooling over the yumminess that is contained within.  Trust me, there are some delightful products in there.

If you would like to be drooling over your very own copy, please email me and I will arrange to get one to you ASAP.  Cost of Annual Catalogue is $7 (plus postage) and the Holiday Catalogue is FREE.

I have one more spot remaining on my upcoming stamp club (starting Sept), so if you take this place, you will get your FREE catalogues in the next couple of days!

In the new couple of weeks, I will be posting various product shares for you.  There will be a few this time given that we have 2 catalogues and I am keeping the product shares separate to each catty.  Get in fast to secure your share.  Most of them will be based on a 1/4 share of products.

More goodbyes....

You may also remember these from my blog over the past couple of years.  These are cards that used more stamps that are retiring as of August 31st.

This set - 'Something Sweet' - introduced us for the first time to the nifty and very cute Treat Cups.  Whilst the Treat Cups are staying in the upcoming Annual Catalogue, unfortunately, the stamp set is going.
This picture was of a class that I ran a couple of years back using two sets that are now on the retirement list - 'Cottage Garden' (the purple set) and 'Autumn Days' (the mustard set).  These are great sets to add small points of interest to cards and scrapbook pages.  The Autumn Days set also works particularly well for making masculine themed cards if you need to make those (and who doesn't?!)
Ahhh, remember this card?  This was my very first Christmas Card Kit card and I sold quite a few of these kits!  'Contempo Christmas' is leaving us at the end of the month and this is really a terrific Chrissy set because one of the images - the bauble - is matched to one of the punches.

Calling all SAHMs (Stay at Home Mums)

Eight years ago, I was a regional manager of a large project with the Department of Primary Industries (or Dept of Agriculture if you'd like!).  I had a number of people that reported to me and I was responsible for quite a large budget.  This was all BK (before kids).

Fast forward to Feb 2009 and I found that I was at home with 2 kids (one a newborn), surrounded by Play School, small child chatter and the avalanche of washing that seems to also come with small children.  Living on a rural property, I felt that I had limited contact with the outside world let alone meaningful relationships with people of my own age and interests.

Now don't get me wrong.  I love my kids (of which I now have 4), but I need more.  I felt that somehow in becoming a mum, I had lost who I was.  I had made the decision not to return to DPI - or in fact any paid employment - whilst the kids were little, but I was slowly going mad being cooped up in the house with them.   My attitude was becoming poor because I felt I was missing out on 'doing things'.  After all, I had spent 6 years at uni to be....what?  A housemaid?  Sure, I was confused and increasingly sad.

So I made the decision to join Stampin' Up! and take some control of myself.  I joined in Feb 2009 and I have honestly not looked back.  I have met a while new group of friends that I would never have met if it weren't for SU! - both online and in person.  I have developed skills within myself that I didn't really know that I possessed, and I now feel like I have regained my sense of worth.

Sure, sometimes it is a juggling act when you have small kids (again, I find myself with a newborn), but it really is worth the effort.  I would like to offer the chance to all SAHMs to be part of this great business.  You may think that it is hard to do, but really, it is not.  As I said, I have 4 kids (ranging from 7yo to newborn), run a dairy farm business and my Stampin' Up! business as well.  Add onto that the increasing amount of running around I do with young kids, the household work that needs to be done and the family time I need to allocate.  It sounds like I am SuperMum doesn't it?  No, I am far from that.  I would never profess to hold that title.

What I am trying to say, is that taking the plunge to be a SU! demonstrator is not difficult and it certainly can be worked into your existing life.  What do you have to loose?  Nothing.  What do you have to gain?  New friends, a renewed sense of worth, a small business to call your own, some handy income for yourself, discounts on your purchases, great incentives, a fabbo support network across Australia and the opportunity to do something that YOU want to do.  Something that does not involve the hubby or the kids. And if you feel like you are isolated (either geographically or timewise), this can provide you with the ability to connect to others through a shared interest.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, or even if you just want to have a chat about it all, please contact me.  With the start of the next Annual Catalogue on September 1st, there is no better time than to join up.  And if the worst happens and you don't want to do this, you simply stop.  No questions asked and no penalties at all.  Nothing to pay back, nothing to give back.

So if you want to change your life, give me a call.

Goodbye to....

Here are a selection of cards that I have made using some of the stamp sets that are retiring.  You will have seen these on my blog over the past 12 months or so.  Some of these I will miss very much as they were fantastic sets to "teach" new stampers with.  Some have been extremely versatile and can be used in many ways and for many occasions.  If you want to snap up any of the sets, I suggest that you get in quick and place your order.  Once sets are sold out, they are gone FOREVER.

This card uses the Vintage Vogue stamp set.  It has been a firm favourite of mine, along with some of my customers.  This set is a very versatile one and if you are into making vintage cards, this needs a place in your stamp stash.  The picture also shows the Very Vintage wheel which is staying into the next catty.
On this card, I have used one of the images out of the Friends Never Fade set (also pictured is a previously retired DSP).  This set is a great one to use with the markers (some of these becoming unavailable as single markers).
This is my horse mad daughter's favourite stamp!  This set of cards was actually the invitations for her 3rd birthday party.  The Pony Party stamp is a fun line art set that allows you to customise in a number of ways.  Great to have on hand for little girls parties, and big girls whimsical cards!
Oh, I may cry over the retirement of this one!  Upsy Daisy was one of the first stamp sets I bought when I was a demonstrator and it has been a firm favourite of mine  In fact, this is one I will hang onto personally and continue to use for my own.  It is a fantastic set because you can use it in so many ways, with so many techniques and with a variety of colours  If I had to push just one stamp set, this would be it.  It is only available in wood mount.
Clearly for You is a cute little set that has a number of little stamps that you can use to highlight or add accents to your cards and scrapbooking pages.  Like the Vintage Vogue set above, this set lends itself to being used on vintage cards.  The matching Bevelled Windowpanes (see below) are also retiring and these are 25% off at just $12.71.

Remember, if you want any of these set, or indeed any sets on the retired list, let me know ASAP and I will put in an order for you.

Get in now to book your workshop

I know that we have just released the retiring lists, but it will not be long until the brand spanking new Annual Catalogue AND the new Holiday Mini Catalogue are with us.

There is always such excitement surrounding the release of new catalogues - particularly the Annual Catty - so I am now calling on those of you that would like to book a workshop for after September 1st to get in now and grab your preferred date before someone else snaps it up!

I have seen the new catalogues and there are some FANTASTIC products in there.  Trust me, you will WANT to get your hands on free products and to do this, you need to be a hostess.  A lot of people balk at being a hostess, but really, all you need to do is ask a handful of family and/or friends around and I will do the rest.  You could very easily come away with more than $100 worth of FREE goodies.

Contact me today to book your date.  I would love to show you some new products, showcase some nifty techniques and possible introduce some of your friends to the world of papercrafting.  Speak to me about how to go about hosting a workshop (trust is sooooooo easy!!)

Items already sold out!

I can promise you it will be a crazy couple of weeks as we face the mad rush of people trying to secure products before they disappear entirely!

Already a few items have completely sold out:

  • More Mustard marker
  • Concorde Crush reinker
  • Peach Parfait reinker
  • Dotto refill

I will update this blog with sold out items as they become known to me.  I suggest that when you place your order, let me know if you would like the order to be placed anyway despite something not being available, or whether you would like to substitute with something else.  In that case, give me a 2nd or 3rd preference.

The retired list is available

The Autumn Winter mini has now ended, BUT......
..we have the retired list to look forward to pouring over!  Yes, for the month of August, you are able to purchase stamps and accessories that will not be making it into the next Annual Catalogue (previously known as Ideas Book and Catalogue).

You can download your own copy of the stamp list by clicking HERE, and the accessories list by clicking HERE or go to the Stampin' Up! website to view online.

There are a couple of things that you will want to note:

  1. All of the stamp pads are on the retired list.  This is because the pads are being bought out in the new FIRM FOAM format.  Still the same great colours, but now a better ink pad that gives better coverage.
  2. Textured 12x12 cardstock will no longer be offered
  3. Smooth cardstock will only be available in selected colours
  4. Stampin' Writers will only be available as individual markers in select colours

Another important thing to remember is that once the products on the retired list are gone, they are gone...even if it is before the end of August.  So don't delay in securing anything off these lists.  Stampin' Up! is going to update availability every weekday to demos, so I will pass this information on to you via this blogsite.  Keep checking back.

In the meantime, enjoy looking through the retired lists and contact me to place any orders!
