Last chance to get product shares

I have just packaged up 11 product shares that I am running from the Holiday and the Annual catalogues.  It was the first time that I had seen some of the items - such as some of the DSPs - in real life and they are really stunning.  The 'Birds of a Feather' DSP is particularly stunning.  This would be perfect for girls, baby girls, feminine, whimsy and vintage cards.  The patterns are also subtle enough to be carried very well on scrapbook pages.  Layer these papers for a fantastic effect and couple them with some of the seam binding, the vintage lace and some of the vintage faceted buttons or the vintage brads.  Beautiful!

I had previously only seen the stitched stain ribbon in Gumball Green (I received this in my demonstrator pre-order) and whilst I was very happy with this particular one, I have to say that I am IN LOVE with the Raspberry Ripple stitched satin.  OMG, it is gorgeous.  Deep, rich and vibrant in colour.  It will go well in many Christmas ideas.

However, this post is to remind you - most likely for the last time - that my product shares come to an end on September 30th.  After this date, you will have to buy the products for yourself in FULL PACKS.  If you want to get a taster of what is on offer - maybe you know you'll only ever want to use a little bit of a few ribbons, or maybe you want to try before you commit - then contact me ASAP.  Shoot me through an email and let me know what you would like.

There are a number of product shares from both catalogues available.....I am sure that you will find one that fits your desires.  Or, like most of my customers that have already taken product shares - you may not be able to decide and TAKE THE LOT!!!  Don't forget that there is the added incentive of a free gift if you do this (Annual catty lots....remember to let me know what colour Dazzling Details you want).

I have my son's christening over the weekend, so I am a bit flat out preparing for that.  However, stay tuned next week for a number of projects that I will load on here...I just received a shipment and I am itching to break into the stash!

Paper, ribbons and embellishments

So are you loving the look of the new paper, ribbons and nik naks out of the Annual and Holiday catalogues?  But have you done your sums and worked out how much it will cost you to buy full packs of them all?  If you have 4 packets of paper and each of the 3 tulle ribbons you could be in the order of around $100.  Would you like to get your hands on a selection of the new products for cheaper?

Well, consider the product shares I have on offer.  I have a range of different shares ranging from just DSP to ribbons, to nik naks to 'The Lot'.  For those that buy all the shares for each catalogue offering, you will also get a free gift and free shipping.

I have a link to the post that contains all the details about the products shares at the top of this blog.  Click on it to see them.  And remember, my product share offer expires on September 30th - which is only 4 more days (incl today) away.  After this, you will have to buy the full packs of each of the products.

For those that have already purchased product shares, the shipment has arrived here and I will be distributing over the next few days!

September class - Decorated Frames

I have been a bit overwhelmed this month...what with the release of not one but TWO new catalogues, a flurry of customer and stamp club orders, decisions to be made about my own demonstrator orders, a catalogue launch, a 70th birthday to prepare for (I made the cake), two workshops to run, an expo to attend, a cousin's baptism to witness and getting ready to baptise my own baby (next week)...phew.  It has been full on.

Needless to say, I have been caught on the hop somewhat for my class this month.  As the Colac Garden and Lifestyle Expo was this past weekend which is usually the weekend I hold my monthly class, I have delayed the class until NEXT WEEKEND.  Please note, that this class is STILL ON.

In this class, we will be doing something a little different to the usual cards.  You will be creating a stamped and embossed picture frame.  These are so eye-catching, yet so easy to do.  You are literally bound only by your imagination when it comes to what you come up with.  I can almost guarantee that at least some of you will be making these for gifts for Christmas!

We will be using one of the new stamps - Pleasant Poppies - along with a number of other items.  I am limited to 7 for this class and 4 spots are already filled.  If you would like to participate, PLEASE contact me ASAP to reserve your place.

When: Saturday 29th September
Where: Old Convent Complex, Fireman St, COLAC
Cost: $20 per person
Time: 1pm

RSVP by THIS WEDNESDAY (26th).  Normal cancellation policy is in place after this date.

Clean and Simple card

Phew....I have so much new stuff sitting here waiting to be broken into....I can hardly decide where to start!  But for the minute, I have a card for you that uses an older stamp set - Dinoroar - that I made for my son's friend on his 7th birthday recently.
Why I wanted to put this card up, was to (again) remind you that cards do not have to be fiddly, intricate and detailed in order to look good and fit the bill.  Often kids - in my experience, mainly boys - don't really care too much about the cards that they receive.  It is often a better expense of our time to whip up a simple card than to spend a great deal of time on it.

However, you do want you cards to be eye catching and well presented.  This card (in my opinion) does just this.  It took me all of about 4 minutes to create.  With Tom now attending more and more parties and Biddy not far behind (as she will start prep next year), I can see the need to have a stash of these simple cards at the ready.  My intention is to sit down and crank out about 15 of these sorts of cards so that I am not caught on the hop when I receive last minute invitations.

Give something like this a try for yourself.  I'd love to see what you come up with, so shoot me a jpeg of your finished project!

Holiday blog hop

**UPDATE**  you may have visited earlier and seen that I missed a link into the blog hop.  Well that's all been fixed and I am now in the loop!  Yay.

Welcome to my little corner of the ESDA Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop.  You may have just joined me from the talented Tanya Bell or you may be starting here.  No probs....just continue on and do the circuit of 25 blogs until you get back to where you started!

So what is ESAD?

ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin" Up! demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group

Onto my creations.  Like last week, I have done a couple of scrapbook pages for you.  For both these scrapbook pages, I have used the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSPs.  In the catalogue they are both promoted as 'Hallowe'en' products.  I don't know about where you live, but where I do in rural Victoria, celebrating a very American holiday is still very unusual.  It just doesn't happen around us.  As such, I had to think of different ways of using the range.

Now the papers are bold, in your face and brash designs.  But the work amazingly well in a number of ways.  My first layout is of my when my husband bought my eldest son into the hospital to see his newborn brother for the first time (this was only back on May, so it is a very recent photo of all of them).  Whilst I have only used a strip of the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP on the layout, the colour I chose really set the scene for the rest of the page.  I have also incorporated a number of other new products on this page too:
Illuminate ink (pg 23) (the silvery stamped images in the bottom left and above my hubby).  This is great stuff and works a treat on dark cardstock.  Sort of like a watermark, but with a silvery finish to it.
Cotton ribbon (pg 20).  This is  7/8" wide and you can stamp on it like a dream!  I haven't done this with it on this occasion, but I have stamped on it with fine lettering and it holds the image quality exceptionally well.
Out of the Annual catty I have used the new Naturals designer buttons, Daffodil stitched grosgrain ribbon, Clockworks stamp set, and the new Midnight Muse In-Colour as the background cardstock.

My second page uses a bit more of the DSP.  I love how many of the designs in the pack all work together complimentary.  This one is of my daughter Biddy on one of those reverse bungy thingos.  She is a daredevil and is not scared of heights one bit.  This page has been kept very simple with the embellishments being a number of punched circles that have been distressed around the edges and then layered on top of each other.  A white and a black button from the neutrals pack finishes them off.

I hope you like these pages.  To continue with the Blog Hop, you need to now go onto the wonderful works of Chloe Evans at Chlo's Craft Closet.  Just continue on via the links at the end of each post to travel around the blog hop. If you get lost, I have listed a link to each blog:

ESAD Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Good morning everyone.  Ready to be inspired?  I am a member of a group called ESAD and 25 of us are participating in a 'Blog Hop'.  For those that are not familiar with the concept of Blog Hops, it is simply a group of people that have all designed a project or two to showcase particular products.  In this case, we are showcasing items out of the new SU Annual Catalogue!

So what is ESAD?
ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin' Up! demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed. So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

I am the last stop on the Blog Hop and you have most likely arrived here from the talented Karen McGoldric. Today, I am showing you a couple of scrapbook layouts using the Floral Districts DSP and the Comfort Cafe DSP ranges. And just for an added extra, I have also included a couple of cards using those DSP and some matching stamps!

First up is a scrapbook layout using the Comfort Cafe DSP. This pack contains very homely prints that are very easy to use. It also comes in a fabric range and I have incorporated some of this on the layout by making some material flowers, topped with some of the new buttons.

This layout also incorporates some of the new In-Colours; Summer Starfruit is the background cardstock and stamped images, Raspberry Ripple is the title and bird, with Midnight Muse as the stamped images (frames and postage stamp).

So onto the cards for this range. These cards were so simple to whip up because the DSP does all the work for you.

With this card, I left it pretty simple and only embossed the flower image (from the Fabulous Florets set) with black embossing powder before finishing it off with a sentiment which came from the middle of one of the stamps out of the Layered Labels set and a shock of Cherry Cobbler seam binding with a button and some Early Espresso bakers twine.

My get well card really showcases some of the other DSP in the Comfort Cafe pack. There are just so many choices! I have added the Labels Collections framelits to this card, using 2 sizes. The Victoria lace on this card works in extremely well with the design on the DSP.

OK....onto my second range......Floral District DSP!

This layout not only features the new DSP, but also the stamp set Betsy's Blossoms that matches perfectly. I also used the new In-Colour Primrose Petals as the background cardstock and some of the new stitched grosgrain in Daffodil Delight. The flowers are a mix of new In-Colours and those from our normal colour families. This layout was a fun one to do, but came about because of a mistake in printing. I printed the main picture first and then trying to save photo paper, turned the page around to print the sequence of pics. Alas....they started printing OVER THE TOP of my main pic! I hurriedly stopped the printing, but not in time to avoid some small over printing. The fix? I just stamped a mass of flowers and then positioned them around the main picture, hiding the printing error. See, there are no real mistakes in scrapbooking...only opportunities to put more flowers on!

The cards I made from this range where equally as fun and vibrant. I love this range!

This card uses a few different products that may not be obvious at first glance. I have used the Adorning Accents edgelits on the 3 pieces of matted cardstock. This creates a bit of interest to the card. I have placed buttons in the centre of my flowers from the Brights Button pack and to finish them off, have popped on a rhinestone. The ribbon is simply a piece of the Whisper White taffeta.

This card is a great illustration of using up small scraps of DSP. I simply used some of the scraps left over from other cards and also the scrapbook layout, teamed them with some plain cardstock and stitched grosgrain ribbon and popped on a sentiment from the Loving Thoughts stamp set and some buttons. Easy peasy. A friend commented that it was a 'faux washi tape' look and whilst that wasn't what I set out to acheive, I admit that it does indeed look like that. So I'm going with it. My Faux Washi Tape card!!! LOL.

Thankyou very much for stopping by. I hope you have been just a little bit inspired by what I have done for you. To continue with the Blog Hop, simply head over to the delights of Chloe Evans. If you get lost, here is a list of participating demonstrators:

Join me on Sunday

This Sunday (16th Sept), I am participating in my first ever Blog Hop.  I have long been an observer of these, but have never actually been part of one.  I even managed to dob myself in for not one, but two!

The first one is the ESAD Annual Catalogue Blog Hop (ESAD stands for Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators) and will kick off at 10am AEST.  Of course, you do not have to be in front of your computer right on 10am....we will just have all our blogs loaded and ready to go by this time.  You can tour around everyone's blog at leisure throughout the day - or indeed, in the days that follow.

There are 25 of us (I am #25 on the list) and you can start with me if you like and continue on.  There will be a link in everyone's blog to take you to the next site.  Eventually you will make your way back around to where you started!

The second Blog Hop will take place the following Sunday (23rd Sept) and this one will be showcasing products from the brand new Holiday Catalogue.  The format will be the same as above.

I hope you can join me and my fellow demonstrators.  Blog Hops are a great way to see different ideas using similar products.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
