First class of 2013 - mini album!

Ok...the title of 'mini album' is a little misleading because it is not technically an 'album', but rather an assortment of photos housed attractively in one of our new clear DVD cases (the same ones that the clear mount stamps come in).

This is a cute project that is so simple to do again...and again, and again....using different DSP and embellishments to suit your pictures and theme.  For this class, we will be using the Simply Scrappin' kit "Pinwheels on Parade".  You will need to bring a few things along to this full length class (see details below).

Date: SUNDAY 27th January (NOTE: I had previously listed an incorrect date of Saturday 26th)

Time: 10.45am for an 11am start.  We will finish no later than 3pm (including a break for lunch)

Place: old convent complex, Fireman St COLAC

Cost: $35 (*see below for inclusions)

RSVP is strictly by MONDAY 14th January as particular items need to be ordered.  As usual, any non attendance or pull outs after the RSVP date will incur a cancellation fee of 50%.
Bookings are essential in order to ensure everyone has a kit and seating is limited.

*for this cost, you will receive:

  • 1/2 Pinwheels on Parade Simply Scrappin kit (you will  have enough over to create another project)
  • Ribbons
  • An extra DVD case to complete another project
  • Full set of instructions with pictures and cutting guides
  • My step by step tuition
  • Refreshments
  • Room Hire
  • Use of any of my equipment needed
  • All adhesives needed (you will need to supply this when doing additional projects after class)
  • Lucky door prize on offer!

YOU will need to bring a few items with you to ensure smooth running of class and for you to complete your project:

  • paper trimmer
  • a pen, fine nib texta or journalling pen
  • GLASSES (if needed)!!
  • your lunch
  • photos (#see below)

The colour scheme of the kit is Red Riding Hood, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze and Whisper White.  It may be worth bearing this colour combo in mind when choosing your photos.  If in doubt, print your photos in B&W or sepia as these will go with any background colours.  The DSP in this range is also quite 'busy'...another thing to maybe bear in mind.

# The photos you will need to compete the album will need to be sized approximately:

  • One at 5 1/2 x 3"
  • One at 4 1/4 x 3"
  • One at 3 1/2 x 2 1/2"
  • One at 3 1/2 x 2 3/4"
  • and one at 5 x 3"

There is enough paper and stickers to do 3 extra photos if you would like.  These three extra pictures need to be sized:

  • 4 1/4 x 3"
  • 3 1/2 x 2 1/2"
  • and 3 1/2 x 2 3/4"
ALL OF THE PHOTOS ARE PRINTED IN LANDSCAPE FORMAT (ie the bigger measurement is the one that runs along the bottom of the photo)

I printed my photos at these sizes directly from my computer on 4x6 photo paper (yes, there was some wastage with the smaller photos), but if you don't want to do this, I suggest that you bring pictures that are printed at your normal photo size (landscape 4 x 6") and you can trim them at the class to fit the photo mats.  Just make sure that some of the photos have a lot of space around your subject in order for you to trim the photo down to size.

If you have any trouble with any of this, please do not hesitate to contact me and I can talk you through it.

Get in quick with your RSVP's as this class will fill quickly.
