The 2013 Retirement List is now available!!

It's here!  And you can save up to 50% off selected products!

The STAMPS retirement list is now available online along with the ACCESSORIES list  There a hundreds of items that are not going to make the upcoming Annual Catalogue (released July 2nd) and now is your time to grab that stamp set that you have been coveting, or the inks that you desperately want, or some ribbon that will set that project off just perfectly.

As always, I suggest that you get in quick to secure the items you want, because once they are gone...THEY ARE GONE.  Forever.

See the retired list HERE (for accessories)

This time, I am making it really easy for you.  For the first time, you will be able to order online and avoid unnecessary time delays.  What's more, I will give you a hostess code to use, and if you place an order via my online store using this code, you will also receive a pack of 6x6 DSP for FREE.

Hostess Code: SKQFFGAG

Don't use this code however, if your order goes over $300, because you will be eligible for usual hostess benefits on your own order.  However, you may still process your order via my online store.  You just will not enter the hostess code.

The retirement list will be available until Monday July 1st, but as I just mentioned, please don't leave it to the last minute to order.  What you want may very well have sold out.  Trust me, things go FAST and I hate to have disappointed customers.  Your very best bet to get what you want is to order over the next few days and to also do this via my online store.

When you order via my online store, your products will be shipped directly to you from Stampin' Up!

Don't forget, when you place an order with me and use the hostess code SKQFFGAG you will also receive for FREE a 6x6 DSP pack.

Don't delay and wind up being disappointed.  Get your hands (for the last time) on some of your favourite products.

Joining special ending SOON

Wow.  I had a great time in Brisbane attending the annual Stampin' Up! convention.  I have returned feeling energised, refreshed and inspired.  Convention 2014 will be held in MELBOURNE.  It is tricky to describe just how fantastic convention is...you really have to experience it for yourself.  I will be updating this blog with a recap of convention in the next day or so....keep your eyes peeled for that!

If you are a keen crafter, why don't you join my team and share the experience with me next year?  Stampin' Up! needs all sorts of demonstrators: from those that want to just get the fantastic discounts on their own purchases, through to those that want to build large robust teams and of course, everyone in between.

Stampin' Up! is an EASY company to work for.  There are no 'express weeks' where you HAVE to sell items, there is no pressure to even run parties if this is not your thing.  It is flexible, affordable and quite simply a really great company to work for.

I have been doing this job now for 4 years and in that time, I have run a dairy farm business, added 2 babies to my child total of 4, and afforded myself extended time away with the family (to Darwin and Perth).  I have received free stamp sets and products, discounts on upcoming products and also received a cash payment in recognition of achieving a milestone sales record of $100,000.

THIS IS SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN DO TOO.

Until Thursday (May 30th) you only have to pay $169 to join, but you will receive $294 worth of products.  You can even customise your starter kit...a bonus for those of you that already have a bit of SU! stuff .

Speak to me about joining, or if you're ready to take the plunge, click on the "join the fun" button below.  Trust me, you won't regret it.

MDS info session

Just a few pics of the display that I had created for last night's MDS information session.

this display used the Wonderland Party digital download
Whilst not a great number of people turned up, I think that those that did went away with a greater understanding of what MDS can do for them in their crafting world.  Given that there is a FREE 30 day trial, I reckon most will have a bit of a play in the coming weeks and work out for themselves whether this is something that they could utilise.

If you missed the session - and a few people did due to previous engagements - then get in touch with me and pop your name on my 'persons of interest' list'! LOL.  If I have enough people that want to have a session, I will run another.

Alternatively, if you have a group of family/friends that you think would like to see a presentation of My Digital Studio, then give me a call or shoot me an email and we'll set it up.  The session will go for about 1 hour and there is NO SALES pitch.  It is entirely up to you whether you go forward with it or not, but at the end of the day, I reckon you'd be mad not to take the free trial offer up.

I already have 2 ladies on my list to run a second session.  Let me know if you'd like to be added.

Get out of the scrapbooking rut

Do you find that you tend to do similar scrapbook pages over and over?  Or are you simply stuck in a rut and can't think of a catchy design to compliment your pictures?

Well head over to STUCK?! and every month they have a number of different sketches for you.  Their in house design team have finished layouts up on the blog just waiting to provide you with inspiration.

I haven't been over there in a while, but needed to get a layout done quickly using MDS of Henry's 1st birthday.  Without hesitation, I went over to STUCK?! and grabbed their latest sketch challenge.  With the beauty of an already designed sketch and the ease of use of MDS, I was able to create this layout in under 15 minutes.
For those of you that tell me that you don't or can't scrapbook because of time limitations, then this is the answer to your prayers.  You will NEVER have the excuse of not enough time EVER again!

This layout was created using MDS and the This and That Epic Day kit available from SU! via my online store!

Design Team entry for CASE Study

Because there are times that even the most talented crafter needs inspiration from others, a number of blogs and websites have popped up to provide just that.  Inspiration.  They range in formats, but they are a great source of ideas, views and product usage.  They stretch our minds and our crafting talents.  They make us better scrappers or cardmakers.  They help us use our tools more, they teach us new tricks.  They improve the techniques that we use and they often have use thinking of using stock standard products in different ways.

Often I look back at cards and scrapbook pages I completed 5 years ago and marvel at how far I have come.  A great deal of my "look" comes from the numerous artists that I follow and model my creations on.  I would like to think that someone, somewhere out there in blogland, looks at my artwork and uses it as inspiration.

One such website is Case Study.  They are currently on the lookout for new design team members and I feel that I am finally in a place that I want to try out.  I finally think my creations have "what it takes". So I am throwing my hat into the ring, putting myself out there and hoping that the girls at Case Study also think I  - and my artwork - am worthy to be raised to this level (because this is secretly one of my goals....to be  a DT member on such a website!).

So, without further ado, here is my entry:
Henry's birth thankyou cards

Case Study is all about "Muses" - you know, one person that really inspires you.  I personally have a few that do it for me and I like to combine things from all of them.  Rarely, a creation that I see and wish to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) ever comes out looking exactly the same, largely because I take a bit of one thing, add another, and another and then add my own tastes, flourishes and touches and WaaaLaaa.....my finished product!

But I had to identify one muse, and quite clearly, for this one, my Muse is Ashely Cannon Newell.  Ashley is a DT member over at Papertrey Ink.  She does some lovely work and of her vintagey type creations, I love her attention to detail and the way things all come together and work well.
You can see how I used Ashley's example and stuck reasonably close.  I changed her design a bit by stamping on the back of the photo with the same teddy stamp I used for the front, in order to link the card and the envelope.  I also used one of the SU! alphabet dies (now retired) to create Henry's initial for the front of the envelope.

Doing something like this was fantastic, because at the time of creating these thankyou cards, Henry was just a few weeks old and my time was simply not my own.  The response I received from people that either received on, or saw one, was so encouraging and positive.  The thankyou was also presented differently to the 'usual' postcard that we tend to get these days.

If you don't use the internet as inspiration, then I strongly encourage you do do so.  You just never know how your crafting can develop.

Ok.....wish me luck!
