I know....I need to calm down

I can't think when I have been just so excited about a new product line coming out before!  But this Project Life venture has just got to be the bees knees as far as I am concerned.

The information is getting out and about today....websites are humming with the news and Facebook is chockas with announcements and the sounds of cheers around the globe!

I am just about to head off for a few days break over Easter and will be in a technologically defunct location.  So.....when I return, I will be getting started on a FANTASTIC opportunity that involves Stampin' Up!'s Project Life.  I will be offering ONE of my newsletter subscribers the opportunity to get their hands on some of the Project Life goodies AS SOON AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE.  Yes, you can be one of the first to own the new Project Life.

Let your friends and family know about this fantastic offer.  I will be sending out an email shortly with a link to enter.  ONLY newsletter subscribers will be given this chance!  So if you know of someone that would like to know more about this, direct them to my blog and tell them to whack their email address into the red sign up box on the left hand side!

I found a sneak peak of some of the goodies that are being released.  I thought you might appreciate seeing them.

CASEd card for CASE STUDY!

Doesn't the saying go "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again"?  Well, this is my second attempt to gain a spot on the design team for CASE STUDY.

I have been following Case Study for some time now.  It is an inspiring blogsite, full of amazing artists and I truly hope that I can be counted among them as a fellow artist!

For a long time, one of my favourite cardmakers is Ashlee Canon Newell.  She is so talented and I am constantly blown away by some of the projects that she creates.  One day, when I grow up, I want to be just like her!!! LOL.

This one card of hers struck me in particular as one to case, because I am not great at doing black and white cards.  I'm not particularly great at geometrical cards either.  And this card incorporated both of these design traits.  However, I love the b&w look and once I finish a particular card I like, I wonder to myself why I don't do more of them!

So without further ado, here is my card...
....and here is Ashlee's card
Some obvious similarities, but with case-ing cards, you have to adapt what you see to what you have.  I stuck with all Stampin' Up! products and I think they did a beautiful job.  After all, with high quality products, it is hard to make too many mistakes!!  I achieved the bright colour and the blacker than black sentiment by using embossing powders.  Love that stuff!!

Wish me luck in my attempt to become a CASE STUDY Design Team Member.

Materials used:
Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White, Soft Sky
DSP - Modern Medley
Stamps - Hello, Lovely!, Fabulous Florets
Ink - Versamark
Other - Melon Mambo emboss powder, Black emboss powder, heat gun

A card for Pinterest

I have been seriously behind the eight ball when it comes to Pinterest.  I have an account and I do pop the occasional thing up there, but I have been really half hearted about it.  But seeing some of the feeds that I get through my own inbox from Pinterest has spurred me into action.  I am going to load a lot more of my projects up on there and hopefully reach a broader audience.

Sounds good in theory anyway!

So I sat down today with a sketch that I came up with from a photo in a home decorating book.  The resulting card looks NOTHING like either the photo or the sketch, but hey, who cares?  The card came up ok.  I am also trying out a new way of listing all the materials I have used on my card.  If you like the card and you would like to buy any of the products that I have used to make it, all you need to do is click on the picture of the said item and you will be taken to my online store!  Easy!
The DSP and the small flower and matching punch all appear in the Occasions Catalogue.  This catty runs out June 30th.

Introducing....Card Kit By Mail (CKBM)

As mentioned on my newsletter that was sent this morning, I am introducing a new class into my portfolio.  This one is completely "at home" and done in your own time.  I am very excited about offering this class as I have had a number of customers tell me for some time that they would LOVE to do my classes, but the time doesn't suit, or they live too far, or they miss out because of class sizes.

So, to this end, here is my alternative.  There are a few things you need to know about this class:
  • Class Kits By Mail will not be offered as a face to face class.  If you want to do these classes, then signing up for them online is your only option.
  • Each class will be based on a particular stamp set and you will be creating NINE cards (3 per month).
  • Each month, you will automatically be billed via PayPal to your nominated account.  Or I can arrange direct debiting of your account for the time period.
  • Each class will run for 3 months.
  • Each month, you will receive a shipment of supplies and instructions in order to complete that month's projects.  The supplies will in general, already be prepared for you (eg cardstock cut to size).
  • For the duration of the class and the month following, you will have access to an exclusive FaceBook group where you can post comments, questions, queries and also share pictures.
  • You will be required to supply some items of your own which WILL NOT be included in the price of the class.  If you do not own these items, you can order them from me on a separate customer order, or via online shopping, prior to commencement of the class and these will be delivered to you direct from SU!.  These items will be announced in plenty of time prior to class commencement.
  • The cost of the class will depend on the stamp set used and the cost of the supplies.  In addition, the cost will vary depending on whether you select wood or clear mount stamps as your option.
  • There will be a sign up period for this class.  After this date, the subscription button will be turned off and will no longer run.  In general, the sign up period will last approx 1 month.
  • If you already possess the stamp set that will be featured, you are able to choose another stamp set (or product) up to the value of the one advertised for the class.
  • Shipping and handling is included in the cost.
Ok, I think that's it.  So, without further ado, I am excited to announce my very first Card Kit By Mail!

What you will get:
  • So Very Grateful stamp set (in either clear or wood mount)
