Cards for Ronald fundraiser


Wow what a day!  The 2nd annual 'Cards for Ronald' was a huge success and enjoyed by everyone that attended.  Final fundraising figures are still being tallied, however we easily exceeded last year's efforts which is simply fantastic.

I will load all the cards that were made onto here for you to see.  In the next 2 weeks, we will also have card packs of the 4 cards made (in packs of 8 - 2 each pack) available for purchase.  The money raised from the sale of these card packs will go straight into our fundraising total for this year's event.  Stay tuned for that!

I thank each and every sponsor, volunteer, and businesses that made donations of goods or services that were used in either the raffle or in silent auctions.  Without the support of these businesses and individuals, a large fundraising event such as ours could not occur.  It was also pleasing to have a number of businesses returning as donators or sponsors and we thank them all for this.  

A special thanks goes to Anthony Nigro who is a franchisee of the Colac and Ballarat McDonalds stores.  Anthony came along to speak to the guests about his involvement with raising money for RMHC through the Ride for Sick Kids, a 700km bike ride!  Even more impressive is that Anthony is not a bike riding enthusiast and does it purely to raise funds.  In fact, he had never ridden very much before the bike ride in 2013 when he had 2 weeks preparation before the gruelling ride!

I will be back with a couple of separate posts which will highlight the sponsors for the day, and another which will announce the winners of the major raffle that was run in the weeks leading up to Saturday.

I take this opportunity to thank a number of people - without these people, I could not run such a large fundraising event:

  • Lynne Simpson, Lorraine Robb and Judy Billing for organising the catering side of things and making sure that everyone was fed and refreshed!  Thankyou also to Betty Seuren for stepping in and helping out on the day.
  • NAB Agribusiness for sponsoring the advertising
  • Crowe Horwarth for sponsoring the printing of the flyers, poster and raffle tickets
  • Sacred Heart Primary School for allowing us to use the brilliant facilities
  • Stampin' Up! who have provided our event with a number of resources and support
  • and finally, my team of demonstrators, Fleur Harlock, Elizabeth Mayer and Michelle Caspar who assisted everyone to make the cards which will be donated to RMHs in Melbourne and also did stirling jobs in demonstrating different techniques and ideas to the guests.  Well done girls.
Whilst I am very tired - both mentally and physically - at the moment, I look forward to the opportunity to do it again next year!

  2. Sam thank you for doing all this organising. I have put my name down but know my capacity and couldn't possibly do this amount of work due to ill health. I would love to be able to be there with you next year but I am still happy to donate when the time comes along. xxxxx
